Actual Dyno gains from these bolt-ons?
I was just wondering what kind of realistic gains I would see from these bolt-ons. These gains are advertised:
-LS6 Intake = 15-20rwhp
-ASP pulley = 10rwhp
-Ported TB = 8-10rwhp
-Ported MAF ends = 8-10 rwhp.
I was thinking more like:
-LS6 intake = 10-15rwhp
-ASP pulley = 5-7rwhp
-Ported TB = 5-7rwhp
-Ported MAF ends = 2-5 rwhp.
I figure the average hp goes for around $30-$50. So $80 for ported MAF ends is about right. I don't want an SLP 85mm MAF because it changes the tuning and you have to tune around it. My TB and intake size is 75mm so there isn't any need for anything larger right? Anyone have any actual dyno gains?
If I were to go to a dyno, could I do a stock run, bolt-on the TB for run 2 and then bolt-on the MAF ends for run 3 back to back and get different results or does it take the car a few miles to get used to them? I figure it is all about flow so it should register immediately shouldn't it? Thanks- Mike W.

Well, you are on the right page here, all these mods could give you more HP depending on your engine. LS6 manifold + FIPK + Port TB + Port MAF + ASP pully with a high flow exhaust you could see a good 19-25 HP to the wheels, I have seen cars with these mods get only 17 RWHP which totaly sux for the money spent.
A lot of money for little horse, if I were you I get good long tube Headers with FIPK and get more HP for the money.
Let me know what you think.

Cam... must.... do .. .. .. . cam.
Seriously the only real substantial HP gains that will change your car into a whole new animal is a cam.
Then when you start to bolt on those other things, you'll truly see their value. On a stock engine, you just won't see the true bang for the buck.

It depends. If you have headers and a cam on your car, an LS6 intake and a ported TB is going to give you more HP gain. I would get the pulley and ported TB. Those should be worth .15 Do you want to someday get headers and a cam? If so, start saving now and don't spend your money on those cheaper mods, they add up and provide a lot less hp per dollar.

Read a sig every once in a while.... I HAVE a cam, a BIG one, AND headers. I was not asking if these would help, thats a given... I was asking for actual dyno gains. Does no one have any before and after dyno numbers on any of these bolt-ons?
YUKZ, I gained 12rwhp switching to a direct-flo lid from stock. I would feel very sorry for someone who only gained 5 more rwhp with an LS6 intake, ported TB, MAF ends and a pulley.

I think you'd probably wind up with:
LS6 + ASP + PTB + PMF = 7 + 5 + 5 + 0 = 17rwhp
maybe a little more, a little less, you need ported heads to get the full benefit of the LS6 intake and ported TB. Forget the ported MAF, I have never seen anyone gain from that! My MAF is bone stock!

I wouldn't do all of those separately, that's not the way to do it! I would save up and do it all at once, all of those are proven gains except the MAF nonsense. I think your question was answered by z98.

17rwhp after spending $750! I thought they would be good for at least 25 rwhp together! I knew a guy who put down 375 rwhp with these mods, tuning and longtubes. If I only hit 400 rwhp with these mods and my cam I will be dissapointed. I have 17x11 Fikse wheels with nitto drag radials too. How much hp are they losing over 16" on street tires? How much is the shortbelt mod worth? Is that just bypassing the power steering pump? Thanks.
