Anyone got their LS1 tuned at Livernois/Speedworks?
Hey, I wanted to see if there is anyone out there who got their car tuned at livernois? If so, were you happy with the outcome? Good numbers? Good tuning?
Thanks
Thanks

Mike Brown's Incon 2002 T/A ran 9.8s at 138 on a stock bottom end with tuning from them (actually Detroit Speed then). They seem to have a good handle on tuning.
One word though, Wheel to Wheel powertrain in Warren will be doing tuning very soon. They are expecting a Mustang chassis dyno when they relocate to a new building in June. How do I know, I am going to work there
Livernois is highly recommended though

Here's a bad response.(livernois)
i tried to take my mustang there on three different days.
everytime they cancelled my appointment (if you want to call waiting an appointment)
said i have to leave my car overnight,or even over the weekend
(I don't leave my car anywhere) they would not even give me a 4HR window when
i could show up for and wait. i got the impression they don't like customers seeing
what their up to.

Well Not to Bash Greg ,But He Specializes in Forced induction,Not N/A engines! He Did my Cam for me last May,made good power on the dyno Wide open throttle ONLY!!!!MY Freaking Car Had to warm up 10-15 Min on a 85 degree day before I could drive it,or it would just stall. He Told me it was the Converter being to small! So I buy a bigger one ,he puts in a bigger Verter, and Guess What???The Damn Thing didnt change! Then He Tells me its because I have a cam now(LOL)I have done a few cams my self and never experienced any probs like that.So I stop install payment with my Credit card,Hes Damn lucky I didnt go any ferther with it!I took My Car over to Kirk at APE He tunes it and guess what,The car ran fine,No more warm ups before I drive it.And Then Kirk proceeds to tell me he could have tunned it with my Stock Converter,Now I was Pissed!.NeedLess To say with the Big run around Greg Gave me ,I wouldnt Recomend Him to my Worst Enemy!
So When I do Cam and Heads,APE Or 1BadLS1 will be Tuning it.Thats All I got to Say

My friends had their stroker motors tuned at APE and had good results, but Livernois is closer(5 min away) so I wanted to go there, but if he only specializes in FI than I'll head down to APE.

Livernois and a GP
With all the hype it would like a line up for the Dyno and Greg for tunes
Where's the GP purchase price.
I might let them set up the c5 with my ls1 edit.
I would be interested

My experience with Greg when he was at Detroit Speed was great he did a great tune on my B1 cam and stage 2 heads. The car pull's great through out the power band and starts and idle's great and drives great on long drives down south and with the air on in stop and go traffic. In fact I plan on going back and getting a retune with him after I install my LSX 90mm intake and T/B.

APE gets my vote! Picked up 18 RWHP/20 RWTQ peak over Detroit Speedworks tune. The other plus side is that it picked up power all across the curve, actually idles now, and most importantly is not running LEAN!!

Guy's bottom line is this.........we have tuned over 700 LS1 cars and trucks. That is more than anyone else in the Detroit area. With tuning all of those cars we have learned a few things along the way that other tuners may not have come across. The more you do something the better you generally are at it.
Livernois is a great company but, until recently they have specialized in Ford Mustangs. Greg is a Mustang guy, that is what he specializes in. He owns a Turbo Mustang. If you have a Mustang I would take it to Livernois, they are one of the best in the business for Fords. If you have a LS1 I would use us or one of the other sponsors on this board. All of us here on this board have plenty of experience with LS1's. Feel free to swing by and see our shop, we will be more than happy to show you around.
Thanks
