Question What do you think about my numbers?

I want to know what you guys think about these numbers and if they are about right for what I have put into the motor - I think that Im a little down for what I have. Here it is:
- True ram air hood and lid by Suncoast
- ASP under drive pulley
- LSX manifold 78mm
- Home ported throttle body
- MTI C-2 cam on 112 (224-224,581-581)
- Heads by Westside Performance- 205s flow 315 & milled .030
- MACs
- MTI custom tuning
- Cut out
- 160 stat, and TB bypass
- TCI 2800
- 3:73
SAE corrected: 395.9 RWHP @ 6200 & 376.7 RWTQ @ 4600 with converter locked up on MTI Dyno Jet model 248C

I was hoping for about 410 RWHP range. Im I being realistic? Are the MACs holding me about 15 hp back?
What do you think , any suggestions
Thanks in advance!

I would switch to lt's out of curiousity to see if the macs are holding you back. I have a hunch they might be holding you back 7 to 10 hp

I think real world standards you are good. Internet Message Board standards you are low.

I would be curious about LT's also but I would also be pissed if I got them and it made no difference. See how you do at the track before you go changing things.

sounds low. i got no heads and did SAE corrected 365-367whp unlocked. figure 10hp for locking up is fair. was that run with cutout open? did you baseline your car before mods?

Sam if u lock your verter your 365RW will drop more like 15RW..
That would put u at 350RW with stock heads,This guys numbers arent bad.

Like 9T9 said,real world numbers..
I'm getting sick if the net and all the inflated bs...

how do you figure? You saying the converter unlocked is more efficient than a locked verter? I have to call b/s on this.

Locked A4 dyno's have more PWHP and less torque.
Unlocked A4 dyno's have less Peak whp, and more torque.

Sam you do no that dyno #s mean **** right cause according to your dynos and Trap speed your car seems off the mark to me, hell I dynoed 325/335 and I run 111mph so I cant see how his #s are low they sound about right.

Not flaming anyone but the dyno is a tuning tool, if you want to know whats what we need to go to the track.

I have seen way to many high dyno guys not put down good track times .

I dont agree with half the dyno #s people post cause they really never match what the car runs.

We all know every dyno ,dynos different.

of course thats why you baseline your car before throwing all the mods and tune it. That way you can see the before/after, preferably on the same dyno, in similar temps/etc. most tuners follow this methodology.

tracks vary too, so does driver skill. DA , Track prep, launch skill blah blah. you are right there. Thats why i asked if he baselined.

i still stand on my point that locked runs produce more whp/less tq/vice versa.

no kidding you'd might as well just put a line lock on, and bring ET streets, otherwise you'll be wasting runs trying to figure out how to get the nitto's to hook with that monster.

OK, went to the track this past weekend. It was a 1/8 mile track in Sealy Tx,
I did have nitto 275/40/17s all the way around on the car. They hooked up fairly well. When I really stomped it off the line I got a few wheel hops, but never really broke loose, sure was a lot of fun-ate up a few mustangs, anyway here they are:

7.73 1/8 @ 89 mph
60 ft time of 1.74

Im thinking of ETs with lighter wheels and smaller tires on the front, 3500 stall speed and hooker longtubes and that might get me into the 7.5 range which is my goal of a 11 second street car on motor only.

What do you think?-thanks

should do it. you need more converter thats for sure, to keep yourself in peak whp band. I ran 7.8@89.99 with 1.80 60 in the 1/8th which was like 12.163@112.60mph 1/4 mile so you're probably knocking on 11's doors as is.

your tire scenario will probably get worse with a larger stall. might think bigger than 3500 imo if you make alot of top end. the tci 3500 shift extension is below 5K kinda sucky imo.

when you shift, the rpm that the motor drops to is the shift extension.

the bigger the verter, the higher the shift extension (generally). say if your dyno makes peak power from 5500-6600 you want to spend the most time in that range going down the strip. right now i'm shifting at 6100 then dropping to 4600. I can bump the shift points up a little but i dont think i'll get 5000 shift extension (or more) from the verter i have.

numbers look good to me for a small cam/auto/stalled car...if youve got the cash you can switch to LT's but its probably not worth it...your car could stand for a 3800+converter up to around 4200-4400 would be good for your app to IMO. Now get out there and run some 11's

Hey there '99 Formula' - you're out in my neck of the woods - I'm in Needville. What color is your car? I'll keep an eye out for you.

You're numbers sound pretty much on. Reading your mods - I was thinking should just reach 400+rwhp - but you are right there. LT's would pick you up some - but I would think 5-8rwhp is probably all. More stall, more tire and maybe some more dyno tuning (LS1Edit) will probably get you where you want to be without the LT's. Good luck and hope to see you around... Patrick
