there seems to be quite a few variables as to your "low" number, but it looks like a pretty strong running car. Keep tuning her and get the timing down to where it needs to be. What exhaust and headers combo are you running? also, i have read that the ls3/l92 style heads like a cam with at least 10 degrees of separation on the duration. unless you're happy with the overall combination, get in touch with pat g and see what he suggest for your set up, otherwise once that car is all tuned up and running properly, enjoy it man!

It's not that ls3 heads want a certain cam. That's more intake/exhaust dependent IMO. I'm running kooks 2" headers and 3.5" true duals. These are just preliminary results for now until it warms up a little and I get it all ironed out. On one of the pulls it says it only made 460 ft lbs. with 220+ cranking compression. I don't see that being correct.

I'll see if I can get the vid up tonight.

We picked up 2tenths and 2 MPH going from 24 to 30 degrees of timing. 700 plus on the engine dyno is bad azz. Good luck with it.

"iron block" Meaning LSX or LQ block? What rods are you running?
Personally I would be scared to spin that high with our style of oil pump. Why did you want to spin that fast anyways? I want a horsepower/torque vs RPM graph..

Couldn't get a good graph cause for some reason the dyno wouldnt pick up rpm over 7k. The block is a LQ block filled with callies compstar crank and rods with ceramic coated pistons. Im running a moroso pump and pan using a total of 8 quarts of oil. I have had torque monster cars before and they just don't do it for me. I'd put a 700hp high rpm car against a 800hp low rpm car any day. This motor is also built for a 300-400 shot from a direct port I have set to the side in the garage

I have had to completely stop working on the car. My baby girl has been born and is here a month early!!! It's an incredible feeling. I'll update this in spring most likely!

I have e85 less than 1/4 mile from my house and easily get 55 gallon drums of c16 to keep in the garage . My next step is tuning it on E and hitting it with 32-34* of timing. It has only had about 2-3 hours worth of tuning so there is more left there

Be careful with those Compstar Rods spinning that high...

Congratulation man!

Is it the rods or rod bolts?

We are just being careful since there are no knock sensors anymore. Might try E-85 and 32* of timing
You guys better be careful with that. It is a misnomer that E85 will take, or want WAY more timing than gas....

If your tuner has a clue what he's doing, he will be reading the plugs and giving the engine timing it wants instead of guessing at a number and calling it good.

Comp Stars will take a licking and keep on ticking.

I think that the stock rods with bolts would be ok Thats what every on else seems to be running on this board.

If the AFR wasn't in the 11's for half the run I think you'd see some better numbers.

That little of exhaust split and tight lsa is nothing like anything I've seen for rectangle port heads.

It sure sounds bad *** though

I'm sorry I have to respond to this.

11.5.1 and a 300 shot is nothing.

Have you ever spent any time around a serious nitrous car?

I know more people than I can count on two hands that run 400+ worth of dope through their motor's at 12:5.1 compression if not more some are around 13.5:1. Tuning window gets narrower higher compression you go, but with race gas and someone that knows what they are doing and the right plug there is nothing wrong with it.
