not bad, i woulda thought it would be a bit higher than that however,

my 418 is running stock intake, 92tb and a cam thats quit a bit smaller than that one and only spinning 6600 it makes its max power at 6300 and its around 540.

That is definetly not bad but I think your heads are holding you back some since yours seems to stop making power pretty early as well. That is definetly good for stock casting heads though

also from what I have heard that our LS3 heads dont like monster cams and actually prefer cams with a bit less duration and lift than other style heads. I think there is a writup on this somewhere, maybe pat G can chime in

After all is said and done I don't think 600 will be a problem. The dyno didn't seen to be acting right. It wouldn't pick up any spark over 7k rpm. This motor made 730 on the engine dyno so I'm sure something isnt jiving.

Yeah something is definately wrong if it made 730 on an engine dyno. That would be a loss of almost 170hp in the drivetrain and I don't see that happening. You also have a 6 speed to boot.

Although a 6 speed this is through a steel driveshaft and some 325/45-17 M&H tires :-). Tuner said it has 24* of timing in it as well to stay safe.

What kind of power did you make?

Ok, confused a little here. If you make peak power at 140mph (equates to 6,900rpm by your tire size/gear/4th) why are you spinning it to 8,200? I think you are putting undue stress on parts.

FYI, my hyd cammed 11.1-1cr 418 with AFR 225 heads through an 80E, 12bolt, 4.56 gears, and a heavy 315/60/15 drag radial made 521rwhp at 6,950. Not knocking your combo, you make a few more ponies than I do, but I would expect that with more compression, more cam and through an M6.

Why wouldn't you pull it as long as power doesn't drop off much? There is still more power to be made im sure. Found out tonight I bought a use rear with a bent axel and it's causing the rotor to drag on the brakes. The builder says he would put more than 24* of timing in it. We are just being careful since there are no knock sensors anymore. Might try E-85 and 32* of timing

I hope you have the supporting mods for that E85 bud. That **** is corrosive as hell, I'm not too sure because I can't really see your graph clearly but does it dip down to about 11.25? 24* of timing seems LOW to me at least. Keep us posted.

Can you link the info you have for e85? Methanol is extremely corrosive but ethanol not so much from what I have researched. My fuel system is more than up to the task of pumping enough fuel with an a1000 and 80lb injectors. It was tuned in 100+ degree weather which is why the low timing. I wanted it safe since I'm not using knock sensors. There is a bit left in ironing out the tune. I also discovered one of the axels in my moser 12bolt is bent and causing the rotor to drag on the pads.

I guess the rpm in which you shift at really comes down to shift extensions, finding the correct RPM for each gear based on RPM drop. Find the highest average power for each gear change.
