Default Initial dyno result on new setup

376.9 RWHP/480.0 RWTQ w/convertor unlocked.

There is more in there - didn't really get the timing tuned yet because it ran out of injector. Cycling at 110% and at around 6,500 the AFR reaches for the sky no matter how much fuel we tried to add. Didn't want to waste any more money on the dyno until the 30#ers go in.

We may do one pull with the convertor locked to see how that looks in comparison.

More importantly I will have track times soon!

how is it some run out of injectors making 380 and some dont run out till 450+ like gomer...i know its like comparing apples to oranges considering gomers is a stick then again not sure if gomer even got injector readings or not.

Some setups may run with a slightly different BSFC and maybe require more fuel at same power level. Depends on where you make the power to i guess. The rlower rpm, the onger window you have to get it fueled.

I could tell you the specs, but then I'd have to kill you Seriously though, I just told Joe Overton what I had to work with and what I wanted it to do and he took care of it.

We'll go back to the dyno Thursday to tune with the 30s, and after that we'll let the track times do the talking! I would rather spend the $100/hr dyno fees on entry fees! No dyno queen for me!

We talked to Joe Overton (cam grinder) about the injectors and he said it is due to the amount of torque it is making.

Makes sense - if you look at the amount of torque it is building (comes in very early and holds over 400 LBFT past 4,500 RPM), it takes a lot of fuel to build that much torque. It is holding the injectors wide open much earlier and much longer than "peakier" high RPM cams would.

On top of the cam grind, I have 18 more cubes to feed - put it together and I'm out of injector!

I was just kidding I did't want big HP numbers - I wanted a torque monster to move my heavy car - I refuse to gut it out or strip it. And that is exactly what Joe gave me!

If we locked the convertor, that HP number would come up some. And don't forget that is with stock LS6 heads.

I'm happy - and that is really all that matters! I care much more about the track times than the dyno numbers anyway!

Hey...watch it with the tank comments

I'm saving weight loss mods (i.e. cheap/free) till fall - cause I won't be able to afford anything else for some time!

We dynoed again tonight with the 30# injectors - no more overworked injectors!

Ran it a little richer at 12.5:1 and picked up 14 LB-FT for a new total of 494 LB-FT unlocked! HP stayed about the same (375), probably cause it is a little richer.

We decided to leave it there and see how it does at the track!

I am very pleased! The car has so much torque it is unbelievable - it just inialates the Nittos from a slow roll! I hope the ET Streets are gonna hook!

I like the 1.53 & the ET. I think I'd of asked for a little less torque and a little more HP but all in all the ET speaks for it self. Nice times, Fred

its not too bad. About 70 degrees maybe lil more on track but DA wasnt bad. First time out with the car, unknown shiftpoints, and running 12.2:1 a/f, still needs some work. Still stock TB, stock pulley work in progress, on stock LS6 heads. Car rips the 60 ft though, i KNOW it will be cutting some 1.4s with a little bit more power and track.

The list of to dos is long Brett, butter up the wife

If I get my box o pullies this week, were putting one on your car adn you cna hit me back for it later
