Top 10 RWHP Per Cubic Inch NA?

Some big numbers. This is what I was looking forward to. More than I thought so soon though. I will correct / add some numbers on the first page tonight. I might have to go to the top 15 (instead of 10) to let some mostly street guys play too.

We made:
~718rwhp(dynojet est.) with a 388ci motor thru 4.10 gears and a manual.
~530rwhp(dynojet est.) with a 346ci motor thru 4.10 gears and a manual.

I'm down for some dyno racing. Mine made 714 on the engine dyno at 416ci (1.71 hp/ci). The build thread and dyno sheets are linked in my signature.
I've got a bit more in this car when I can finally get some fuel in it (see 14-15:1afr) and work on the 60ft times. Running down the track seems to take far more work than the dyno!

I would love for you to quantify this statement. Please tell us how a 2 speed trans helps to keep the motor in it's best RPM range at all times, vs a 4 speed auto or even 6 speed auto.
I also think that for the auto stuff, the trans type and locked/unlocked should be mentioned. Some guys only dyno their 4L60's/4L80's unlocked and some only dyno them locked. TH350's/400's/glides can't be locked.

I will mention it in the list if it is in their description. But, why would someone not lock their trans when on the dyno?
MPH at the the track measures WAY more than just an engines capabilities. E.T. of course is the major player in set up and driver. But E.T's give way to how much tire stick, how well you shift if in a manual, etc. The purpose here is to keep it as engine only as possible. Which is also impossible because of friction losses in the transmissions and what accessories are attached, and of what style, and the endless combinations in between. BUT. You have to start somewhere.

Some fear that the converter can't hold the power under lock-up.
Others feel that numbers locked are inflated as most people don't lock the verter but the top of third. In other words, you are not using all the power.
My little 347ci motor I built made 449rwhp through an 80e locked up. No doubt in my mind it would have shown more power through a 60e locked.
My current 418ci motor made 521rwhp through the same 80e locked up.
Both were on running 91 octane.

None the less. You can still learn much. If you see a big power motor that STARTS it's dyno @6K rpm and goes to 9500, there is no need to compare your weekend warrior six speed to it. Trust me, you're most likely not going to pull up next to it at a stop light. (it happens though)
then... unlocked is all they have to show and that's all that can be told. The only "fair" answer I have for them is that I will post locked or unlocked if it is mentioned.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. But in general I think I know what you are saying. Thank you for the reply.

I am trying to cover this statement. You're about the 3rd to say it so far. - he who only read the first few posts and then posted the above..... Please read the other posts and you will find a few others already covered this and my reply.
There will never be a perfect comparison. Please just make the best of it.
