Low numbers, How to tell if converter is ....
locked or unlocked?
I picked up a 00 T/A about 2 weeks ago, it's an A4, mods are:
Kooks 1 7/8 heads
Fast 90/90 Intake
Comp cam. don't know the specs
AFR 205 cylinder heads.
Bigger Injectors
80 mm maf
410 rear gears
Magnaflow exhaust
Precision Industries 3800 stall converter
LS6 short block
Dobble roller Timing chain
ARP rod bolts.
The guy i bought it from said the car was dyno'd 5 years ago , so friday i decided to go and put her on the rollers to see what kinda power she was putting down and ck up on afr's.
Well numbers are kinda low. 393/345tq, if its unlocked i'm not too worried but how do i know?
I read somewhere that the precision industries read lower too so odk

I wouldn't worry too much about dyno numbers with a stalled auto. The 383 in my sig only put down 356whp on a Mustang Dyno. It put down 355whp last year with my 140k 346ci engine and a 6spd and ten bolt. It pulls alot harder than it did last year. When I did the track simulation the numbers were better, 7.45 @ 94mph in the 1/8th on street tires spinning through first on the dyno, last year my cam/headers M6 was only trapping 87mph in the 1/8th. The only way to tell is take it to the track, I planned on it last weekend but it was rained out. If the track sim is close to real life its right where I thought I would be and every online calculator says a 3600lb car with that mph is around 450whp. All I know is if I go to the track and run 94mph in real life a 7mph gain after switching to an auto which doesn't mph as high as an M6 and a heavy Dana 60 is alot more popcorn than it had before lol.
