Default Yet another TSP231/237 Stock Heads & 9"

390rwhp/360tq
It was a hot, humid day in Miami.
This was pulled at a local F-bod dyno day.

A cam only TRex car also pulled 408rwhp, but only 360tq, so torque figures were low across the sample of cars tested. I think my torque number is closer to 375ish.

The car is running consistent 12.1x's @ 117-118mph on a 1.8x's-1.9x's (Nittos). My slow shifting *** needs more practice.

The car pulled 400rwhp before the Moser 9", so things seem right.
I'm satisfied with the setup. Heads to come in the Fall.

Things get rich at the top end, so there's room for improvement.

So a 9" with 4.11 gears only robs 10 HP. Good to know. Good luck with your car.

Yup, but the compensation is that you can launch like a **** on stickies. Heven't done it yet, but looking forward to it.

Also, the car hasn't been tuned since changing the exhaust setup and the ported TB. I'll wait 'till the heads go on to retune.

Great numbers man! Who did your tuning? Is it a "mail order"?

Glad you got some solid numbers, man. You definitely can pick up some ponies on the top end by leaning it out a little bit.

Nice numbers. I wondered how much power the 9" would eat up.

I figure it's eaten between 10 to 15 hp in this case.

Hey Carlos! Nice numbers again bro!

BTW, I threw mine up on the dyno just for the hell of it after you left, put down 413hp and 366tq. Dunno if the oil change and the new t-stat (which were the only changes made since last weeks tuning) were the cause of it, but needless to say, I am happy

That's excellent.
Gotta love the TRex.
Again, I truly think the TQ readings from that dyno are a tad low, but who cares in the end, as the dyno is simply a tool to help us go faster.

We should take the cars up to Moroso soon. We'll have a TSP231/237 vs. TRex shootout.

Yeah, I would say it sounds very good! Wait till you get some heads with that cam, then you will be deep in the 11's. Last time I put mine on the dyno, it was rich all the way across. I think with a tune it will be much better. I am with you though, I am going to get some more mods before a retune! I need a throttle body, pulley and LS6 intake. Heads? Possibly soon!

Yea, but I've gotta go to a track that will compliment the hard launch by offering me some grip (track prep). Our track isn't too kind about that.
4500 rpm clutch dumps (even using your method) just result in wheelspin, even after roasting the Nittos @ 17psi.

I have been to a track like that, I think some times they over prep it and cause the same thing on Nittos. Last time out on Nittos with the 4.30's , 1.85 and a 1.94 and swithched to et streets and went 1.65 to 1.70 's. I am going to NoProblem where the THunder shoot out is held this wensday night to see what the Nittos will do with the 4.30's.

Carlos and Rich.....nice numbers.............I really, really want a cam now! Thanks a lot!

I put down 306 hp and 311 TQ. That's about what I figured since I still have the stock exhaust still on there.
