Yes, I have a FAST 92 with a NW TB. It's not ported. No flycutting. Running GM MLS head gaskets. I know it's tight though.

I'll be a hell of a lot happier when I get the injectors in and tuned, with a new clutch. I'm sure theres a bit more to be had in the set-up.

Omega, your sig touched my heart for reasons I can't explain. I have 5 little girls myself.

Do you still daily drive this car with the new setup? If so how is it everyday?

I still DD it. I got the Monster stage 2 with 18# FW, Tick MC installed about a month ago. Still on the break in. I have the new injector as well. I should be able to update this in another month or so with a better AFR and hopefully higher numbers.

I'm REALLY debating pulling the heads and flycutting so I can run a Cometic .040 and get a little better quench, but it's the dynamic compression I'm worried about. I need to jump on a calculator and see where I'll be.

I'm also debating letting Peak Speed get a hold of my FAST 92. If that gave me 10, and the 18# flywheel gives me 8(?) I'd be a hell of a happy camper.

Just retard the cam 2 degrees and run the tighter quench. You could probably get away without flycutting since 2 degree retard will gain you the thickness difference between the MLS to Cometics. You'd move your powerband up, but the dynamic compression would stay about the same, so your torque numbers would just carry higher. The added quench should allow a little more timing for more power...

Or if you flycut, you'd lose about 1cc, so that's close to equaling out the difference between the GM and Cometics as well. Then you keep the powerband as it is with a little more timing (or less - usually you run less timing now that I think about it with a tighter quench and gain power via a more complete burn).

That's a huge negative on retarding the cam. It's a 99% street car, and the lower the power comes in, the better. It doesn't bother me the slightest to drop the heads and cut .080 for intake and exhaust each. What I "lose" in compression, I'll make up for in quench and then some, and that'll probably help my dynamic compression as well.

I need to go down to a TR6 as well, as I'm thinking it's just too hot with the TR55's @ .045 I'm thinking the TR6's at either .040 or .045

Hopefully I get it back in to Geoff in the next month and a half or so. I need to swap out these damn Sweet Thunders for a pair of Magnaflow bullets as well. A muffler with a 2.25" ID surely can't be helping me either.

Put some 4.10's or 3.90's in it for your street manner worries...

Look up SpinMonster or Tony Mamo for a STELLAR port job on that FAST 92...

Leave the Fly cutting for the birds and get a Nitro Daves 150 Wet Plate kit or a Halo 100 Dry Shot!!

Just my .02cents

All comments and suggestions are welcome, 06X6. I'd love a notrous set-up, but can't really justify it until I get suspension, rear end, and a cage in it. I want to take this set-up as far as I can and see how it is.

I'm not worried about driveability at all. She drives great right now as she is, with just minimal surge around 15-1600. 3.89's are the gear I'll be going with though with the 8.8 rear.

It's looking like some Cometics and Lindy tools are the way to go. That'll give me 100% the best quench, and assure me I've taken the heads, as is, as far as they can go and maximized every potential I can.

Trying to get back on Geoff's Dyno this month to see where I'll be with the recent improvements:

Monster 2 w/ 18# Flywheel

Racetronix 255 w/ Hotwire Kit

42# injectors

26k mile MAF sensor

Anyways, I finally became a bit more familiar with the WinPEP7 software and took some good shots of my last two runs, run 5 and 6. Run 6 doesn't even go to 6k I don't believe, as that's when the stock clutch let go.

Take a look at the pics and please tell me what you think, and if, with the aformentioned upgrades, you think I've fixed my lean issue.

Run 5 Air/Fuel Ratio

Run 6 is when the clutch ***** the bed, but A/F Ratio starts to look better. Fuel pressure is all over the place though...

Well, made the appointment with Geoff today.

She goes back on the rollers on the 20th at 1030am. If you're in the area, stop by!

Hoping for 460/420.

I see no reason that it shouldn't make 10 hp/trq more, I look forward to seeing the new numbers.
Hope for abnormally low temperatures and humidity that day!

I am very interested in this. Putting this cam in a 6.0 as we speak. Did you change the mufflers yet?

No, not yet. I'm prob gonna make at least one run without them, once it's all dialed in to see if they're a restriction or not.

Results WILL be posted tomorrow.

Today I threw in some TR6's gapped @ .045 and a 160* T-Stat
