Is that an improvement or a wash? Were the 330' times any quicker?

As far as radials go, the Mickey Thompson 3574X is the pinnacle of a drag radial nowadays. With a slick though, the way you hit the tire and apply wheel speed is totally opposite than that of a radial. A slick you want to actually spin the tire over approximately 2-3 revolutions before the car even moves from the starting line. This generates wheel speed and gets the car "up on the tire". Once you have done this, and the car stays "on the tire" and the weight stays transferred power must continue to be applied in a linear fashion to keep the car "on the tire". Once you drive through the converters coupling transition you are on the home stretch and normally 100-120' out by that point. Just keep on shifting gears at that point and keep the gas pedal to the floorboard until you see smoke, the other guys tail lights or the finish line.

I'm sure the Goodyears are much cheaper. The M/T is the pinnacle of drag radial technology though. You can hit that tire so much harder out of the hole than that Goodyear it's no comparison.

The MPH and E.T. you picked up was from the switch to radials over slicks.

Did you play with the shock settings any on the radials? If so what did you try?

Which track are you going to on the weekends? E-Town, Atco, or Cecil?

I wonder what kind of boost you're seeing on the 2 step/trans brake. Also wonder what kind of timing is in it. Normally, and I say normally, if extension is tightened and it doesn't spin it will go faster than it will looser.

Normally when we tighten the extension up on our shocks when the track is good, we also add power.

On trans brake @4500rpm boost is at 5psi and timing is like 13/14

I'm guessing that the timing is at 13/14psi all the way from the release of the transbrake to the end of the run?

Now that my computer will play this video I had the opportunity to watch it. Plenty of information can be found in this video.

1st question I have for you is what is the RPM's when you cross the stripe?
2nd question is what RPM is your peak HP at?

Then I'll PM you and tell you what I see in your video.

With the slicks as in the video going throught the traps at 6300rpm
With the drag radails going through the traps at 6500 rpm
Makes peak power at 6250rpm

The car is loose imo in the video and needed to be tightened up. It also pulls the motor down on launch with the converter pretty much coupled on the transbrake. It needed to flash. It still sounds like that even letting it flash and tightening it up in the front end that it doesn't have enough power to drive through the converters coupling transition. I think the car can go 9.50's-9.60's with a good 60' and 330'.

So it sounds like I have to get the converter loosened up. I have been thinking about getting a smaller pulley adding 5 psi that would help out 60ft? Just don't know how long the motor will hold up.
