I have the new Zex plate and an FJO to install shortly. The x pipe will have turn downs before the axle. Pretty sure the heads are my downfall. I've for the fast toys 98mm lid and the 85mm MAF, so its getting plenty of air.

I'm sure a 225 or 230 head would pick up close to 15-20 hp...but the cost will be a nice penny....just up the shot

Not trying to hijack the thread, but it was actually a real simple setup with a very good tune.

Ditching the y pipe and cutout for duals and dumps in hopes of getting that extra power to the ground. No dyno sheet at the moment. Any comments or opinions welcome.
How BIG is the intake valve in those 5.3 heads?

Those 5.3 heads can make good power, your setup is real similar to mine. I have a half point more compression, little bigger cam and ported 92 intake and mine makes 500/450 at the tires NA. Take it to the track where it matters and see how she fares!

Oh, alittle competition. LOL
Hey Brian, where did you get it dyno at.
Numbers seem about right, my old 382 made 465/410.
We'll have some fun this year at the track.

Yeah, George. This coming year should be a blast. Can't wait to see your TA make a pass.

Numbers seem pretty decent for the setup and we all know numbers can vary from dyno to dyno. ThumpnZ28 feel free to give us a call when your ready to discuss those 237s.

Aaron, I always get stuck ordering from you anyway, so I'm sure it will happen. Thanks for the customer service so far.

Change to a BIGGER intake valve the next time the head is off, or even better yet just change the head to something bigger/better.

If the heads come off, I will be going back on with something better. Not worth the effort to try to make 5.3 heads do more than what they do now.

Anyone have a guess how much better I would be with a Vic Jr and an elbow?

From what I have seen Vic's and elbows are not that great of a combo. A Vic with a 4150 tb, that's a different story.

I'm running a super Vic on mine. I do have a Vic jr I'd like to get rid of. Never used other than for mock up on my 73 camaro with turbo LS.

I was hoping for a bit more, but it is what it is. Now, I'm just curious to see what it will do at the track.
