Default Dyno results: 370 c.i.

Finally got the car on the dyno yesterday after the new engine was broken in.

LQ4 block, 4.030 bore
Diamond -2cc pistons
Eagle 6.100 rods
stock GM crank
ported FAST 90
PRC 5.3 heads
11.5:1
Car has a TDP T56, 9 inch and 4.30 gears.
Car made 462/412 in 73° weather.
Ditching the y pipe and cutout for duals and dumps in hopes of getting that extra power to the ground. No dyno sheet at the moment. Any comments or opinions welcome.

Cam is pretty small. 24x/24x on a 112.

I should have gone bigger. Car should shine with the 200+ shot it was built for. Going TH350 in the spring.

#s seem low. If you have a 3" cut out its killing you.

Numbers are low??? I didn't think so. I gained 100 horses and almost 90 lbft from the ls1 with an MS3 cam. And while dyno #'s are cool to talk about, I'm more concerned about e/T's.

I have almost the same motor set up as you except i have stock milled 243s and my car put down 424/417 through a 4l80 and a 9". I picked up 27lbs of torque ditching the 3" cutout.

I'm ditching the cutout, y pipe, and going to bigger headers. Should get me a little more.

You should consider an xpipe, or if you are y pipe destined, then get a good merge collector like magnaflow or flow master. It would make a significant difference especially with 1 7/8ths

X pipe is already sitting in my garage. Going to stepped headers and a 3 1/2" collector.

Different set of heads would help greatly. Not saying they're bad, just not good for your setup.

I agree completely on the heads. I was thinking about the PRC 237's next year. I'm going to run this setup this coming season and see what all I can get out of it first.

Those would definitely be better! My old 370CI with LS6 heads made 494RWHP/467RWTQ through an A4, they have real good potential. Also ran 10.70s NA and 9.90s on a 150 shot....and like an idiot I sold it before I got to spray it to the ground like it was built for!

Its a process. Trial an error, and improvement over time. I plan on changing to a single plane intake too at some point. Just trying to get all I can out of 370 inches before I have to upgrade.

What y-pipe do you have ?

I think I could have gained more power, but dyno looks like I was getting valve float...Springs had alot of time on them and have seen 8,000 rpms several tims

check these y-pipe results out

great results. would love to see a direct port nitrous kit put on it with a progressive controller from Neil @ nitrous outlet. Car is going 9's no doubt. Have an exhaust shop make you up a 3 inch TD exhaust.
