those are great numbers for that cam Martin... the GTO definitely has a big loss in the drivetrain... i think its somewhere around 18%... at least they show a little more on a dyno bc of the dif being a 3.46 instead of the 3.73 on the gen 1 cts-v... i wish i had 3.46s on my car... has way too much gear for the tq now lol... ps i love the cam you speced for me... thumpy idle and i can drive it in 1st at 1200 with almost no surge at all

It is not called the "TorqueMAX" camshaft for nothing.

It still has a stock LS2 block, rods, crank and pistons.

That's awesome! 1200rpm is pretty good! Must have a good tuner as well!

Something else to note, the 455/425 was recorded with the LS2 intake manifold that the car used to have. It has a Fast 92 on it now and on the timing we utilize for nitrous (22-23 degrees) it makes the same 455/425 as it did with the LS2 intake on 4-6 degrees more timing.

I'm bring this thread back. I'm building a 6.0 lq4/4l80 with ported stock heads.
I plan on purchasing this cam in the build and was wondering how the stock "big ugly" intake will work on this setup.
I don't have to use it, but for a budget biuld I would like to use it. Unless it is a restriction. I plan on using a stock tb as well.

This is going in a 1959 chevy truck. A rat rod kinda truck.

I have an LQ9 iron block with ARP rod bolts and head studs bored .020" over, other than that stock block.

FAST 102mm TB and Ported FAST 102mm Intake
Advanced Induction 232cc 243 castings with dual springs titanium retainers Milled for 11.5 CR
Custom Lunati Cam (229/234 .600/.600 114 +2 LSA)
Hardended push rods
1 7/8" headers
3" X-pipe with high flow cats
3" Catback exhaust

This what it made on the Dynojet (SAE)

I have seen very respectable power out of the truck intakes. Of course a Fast 92 or a Fast "truck" intake would be better, but if you're on a budget the truck intake should lay down respectable power.

Thanks for the reply Martin. I was going to do a vic jr/4brl tb setup but that takes away from the whole budet deal. I would like to get my hands on the fast truck intake, would be sweet. But I'm going for the stock look but very clean engine.

How much you think the truck intake gives up over a fast 92 setup?

While on topic, I have several set of heads to choose from going back on this motor. 317's or 241's or 806.
Which would you use on this build? I have a great motor guy building the motor who happens to be a cylinder head specialist, so he will being hand finishing the heads and milling to get the cr 11:1.
I'm also trying to use a set of kooks 1 7/8" race headers off my mustang. So it will breath well on the ext side for sure.

I don't have any data to give you a 100% true answer, but I would guesstimate 15-20rwhp.

I may stick with the stock intake for now. By the time it's all finished up next summer I may have a diff intake setup.

What about the heads? Which would you use out of 317's, 241's and 806?
