Default QTP HV headers HUGE dyno #s!

QTP HV headers HUGE dyno #s!

Well I decided to get a set of Stainless Steal headers since my coated ones were rusting very quickly even a year before I bought them. I did some research and decided that QTP was the only way to go. I based my decision on all of the great things that I heard about their product and the options that the offer with their packages so decided to give it a try. I ordered a set of their Long Tube headers with their exclusive QTP HV (High Velocity Merge Collectors) Race headers. I have always heard that those types of collectors along with the addition of a Y pipe with a real collector will give a bit more power. So I was happy with that and I couldn’t wait to get the results.

All The testing and installations were performed by CARTEK Racing and their Kick *** Team!
With my previous Long Tube Headers (in my signature) my car put down 330.9RWHP/340.5Lbs of TQ through my 9” Rear and 4.10 Gears and No tuning.
After CARTEK put in my QTP HV Race Headers and the OFF ROAD Y pipe with a flowmaster’s collector the car put down and incredible 349.7RWHP/355.9Lbs of TQ!
That is an overall gain of 18.8RWHP/15.4Lbs of TQ! I couldn’t be happier. I had no Idea that it would be this HUGE of a gain and with NO tuning too! And to top it off it’s through my HP robbing rear end!

After than CARTEK threw in their 3X Cam package and my car put down a good 406RWHP/370Lbs of TQ through an Open QTEC cutout!

I have all the dyno graphs but they are on separate sheets. I am going to ask CARTEK to see if they can put the runs on the same graph for further review.

These QTP stainless Headers are the real stuff. I am very impressed with them.

That type of gain is normal after he already had another brand of LTs on there?

Durien, if you don't want to post it on here, could you PM me what brand of LTs you had on your car before? I was actually on QTPs site today looking at that exact header.

Anyone else have results with QTPs headers w/ the high velocity merge collectors?

330rwhp and 118mph traps in an Fbody? Impressive. Should be up to ~126 now.

Exclamation

19hp and 15torque is almost hard to believe going from one LT to another.

Also, the QTP's cost about 3 times as much as the Jet Hot LT's!

Wow that's a helluva gain over a good set of headers. What is the rest of your exhaust system? Congrats.

The High Velocity Merge collectors on the QTP's look awesome. Congrats on the gains, and I don't know why more people don't invset in a Flowmaster Merge collector in the Y-pipe which is a proven improvement over the crap merges that most Y pipes come with.

But, how did you manage 118mph traps on stock internals?

Ahh, didn't notice you had Jethots. Those headers aren't that great anyway, but 15 HP increase is still damn good!

Well my friend, the dyno doesn't lie. He said he has all the graphs. And you have to remember, it's not just one LT to another. It was regular LT's to LT's with high velocity merge collectors and a larger Y-pipe with Flowmaster collector, with no tuning. That's where the gains came from.

But isn't paying 3x more for stainless headers that put out some awesome numbers and don't rust within a year and most likely won't ever rust worth it?!

Durien,
You think you can put some of those graphs up? I'm curious to see what kind of torque curve youre getting.

Great numbers Durien! Your making my Jet Hot Long Tubed LS1 equipped LS1 feel inferior! I recently took off my Hooker ORY and went with the 3" QTP Catted Y pipe with the Flowmaster Merge Collector and it is a very nice piece. The SOB looks to be awesome in terms of flow as the Flowmaster Collector is soo smooth and contured compared the Hooker ORY where two pipes are just welded together. I would think any power lost from adding the cats would be gained from the better flow of the Flowmaster Merge Collector.

Why so hard to understand? I am running a 224 with mac mid length's on an A4 and just dynoed 416 RWHP so I think Durien's setup is badass since he is making that power through the 9inch 4.10 Rear..........
