So, my question is will the gains justify $1k price tag? Current changes will include: -Tick SNS Stg. 2 cam -Cometic .040 head gaskets -Milling heads from 64cc to 62cc Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Bigger primaries, better Y merge (Kooks has a new design, raised compression.

Yes, absolutely. Especially since you can recoup a lot of the cost by selling your old stuff.

One thing that concerns me is the primary length. On the C5's the 1 7/8 have shorter primaries, does the same hold true for f-bodies?

Your changes are right on par, and YES the larger headers will definitely help. I picked up 3 mph in the 1/4 going from 1.75 shorties to 1.875 long tubes without even a retune. Did you get the trans shifting issue remedied ??
Lastly Speed Inc. dyno is a legit, everyday, real-world machine. Jim Moran tuned mine and although the numbers seemed low to me the car ran decent numbers at the track. Get some drag radials too so your 60foot comes down.

Yeah, I ended up getting a built trans from FLT. Only put ~100 miles on it before I had to put the car in storage. So I wasn't able to put it through the paces yet.

I'm still debating on DR's, but i'm leaning towards 555R's.

Default DCR too high?

I spoke with Martin last week about my new combo. He informed me with the 62cc chambers combined with the .040" gaskets my DCR would be 8.9:1. Will I be able to run 93 octane without any issues or should dial it back a bit?

FWIW I live in the midwest where we see the best of both worlds, in terms of weather.

Thanks.

Ragged edge. Leave it at 64cc with the .040" Cometics with the new cam.

Run the 1-7/8" headers. TSP has a cheaper version with a stainless merge Y-Pipe. Kooks has this now too. Either way, I'd probably swap out the exhaust for something that flows more... Borla or Magnaflow if you don't want true duals.

Grab a used FAST 92.

440rwhp here you come.

I'd run it. Absolutely. Just be sure you're always filling up with a quality 93 octane fuel.

I was afraid I would get conflicting opinions. Could I mill them down to 63cc so I have some breathing room or would that little of a mill not be worth the cost? I'm not totally against not milling the heads, I just figure that since they're off I might as well.

I would love me some Kooks TD's but they're a little out of my price range. Although the TSP's are considerably cheaper, Kooks are american made and, from what I've read, have damn near perfect fitment.
