What should a stock 2002 FireHawk Dyno?

Default What should a stock 2002 FireHawk Dyno?

I have a stock 2002 Firehawk M6 that I'm going to have dyno'd for a baseline before I start my mods. Any idea what I should expect?

Helps to know if its an A4 or M6. 6 Speed cars dyno higher than auto's. But 310+, 330 if you are lucky.

So if his bone stock was 311 hp and its a Camero SS which was rated at 320HP, My Hawk was rated at 345HP so I should expect somewhere around 335HP?
Is this a safe assumption or is that too high

The ratings don't mean anything. They all make the same power.

Please use the search function.

All the LS1's of the same year dyno around the same power.

No, the upgraded exhaust & airlid adds ~20hp to the 2002 Hawk/SS package. If they "all make the same power" (stock), then there'd be no point in either upgrading your stock exhaust or factory lid.

I've seen 290- 325hp on stock Firehawks (02's)So there is no definite #.

The lid/exhuast aren't stock with firehawks/ss. They are options. And for $100 you can add them to any car (used lid + $40 cutout).

No, the upgraded exhaust & airlid adds ~20hp to the 2002 Hawk/SS package. If they "all make the same power" (stock), then there'd be no point in either upgrading your stock exhaust or factory lid.
An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1.

There is always variation, but the 345 hp option is a joke. All of them make 345 hp. I'd say some of the fully optioned models make 360+ with the numbers they actually put down.

Now I feel stupid for falling into the "Fire Hawk trap" I could have saved myself $5000 and got an easy to acquire SS and used the $5g's for mods!!!!!!!
Nah, you've got a badass car. I like how the firebirds in general look, although I wouldn't part with my camaro at the moment for one

Um Dude, the SLP Donaldson Lid and SLP Dual/Dual catback were standard on ALL Firehawks in 2002. Some of the earlier Hawks build ~150 and before were built before the Lids were finished and were sent to the owners after delivery. As for the SSs they come in either the SLP version or the GM Factory version. If the SS was an SLP version it follows the same rules as the 2002 Firehawks.

As for performance it's saved me the need to buy a lid & catback, but also gave me tons of other great options like the bilstien suspension (see sig).

I know a 2002 Firehawk without them. Therefore, they aren't standard on all 2002 firehawks.

I've had my car dyno'ed at two different shops with the SAME mods. I dyno'ed 10rwhp MORE, than the other shop. I can understand a 2-3 HP difference, but 10?!! I don't get it.

Check this link out. Take careful note of where it says STANDARD EQUIPMENT on the second page. I don't know about the firehawk you are talking about but something isn't right with it.

THey are standard on the Firehawks. I have heard of instances where some jerk took a Trans am or formula and put FireHawk stickers on it and tried to sell it as a Hawk.

No, you could have saved yourself $15,000 and got yourself a Z28 and gone just as fast or a lot faster because you could have used that extra money for some serious mods.

I'm just giving you a hard time. It's still a Firehawk and looks badass.

On the other hand, I did only pay $19,300 for my Z28 and it's doing quite fine.

True, the early 2002 Hawks did not come with the Donaldson lid, but its incorrect that they were 'free' if you contacted SLP. The MSRP was increased by $300 when the new lids became available, and any pre-lid 2002 Hawk could purchase one from SLP for $300.

The dual dual exhaust is very restrictive compared to other aftermarket exhausts out there.A cutout could give up to 15hp on a stock Hawk.
On the contrary, I have found the SLP D/D to be one of the best (if not THE best) flowing quiet exhausts out there. You'll basically get ~10hp with a cutout when comparing to *any* aftermarket exhaust.
