Default 5.3 rear mount turbo c5z. Getsomemotorsports built/SpeedFactory tuned. Dyno Results

So long road from a broken valve in my 403 stroker to a 5.3 rear mount turbo is done! I couldnt be more happy and impressed! Had an idea and my buddy Zach ran with it making a rear mount turbo kit to die for! Rear mounts are laggy. lol I say only if you don't do it right.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-f...unt-c5z06.html

In Comes James at SpeedFactory Known by all in the import world for having some if not the fastest honda's in the country. Not know for tunning GM cars. But wanting to get into the gm game to expand his company. Did an amazing job buy the way!

Well this combo didnt make what i was expecting at all. It made way the hell more!!

772/767...16lbs on the scanner and 14.5* timing on pump and meth

On a side note the combo is nowhere near maxed out. We only stopped because it hit a hard coded airflow limit in the PCM and we couldn't push any more. The tune needs to be scaled down to get around it which we will do soon enough. we actually made 800/800 at 5200 rpm at around 18.5 lbs before it cut out at 5200. But we will do that later and turn it up! I need to adjust to all this power before we turn up the wick!

So Thanks goes out to my buddy Zach for building a stupid nice kit, and James at speed factory for taking the time to dail my car in!

Just found out we ran out of fuel not turbo. This was dilaed back to 90% duty cycle. They maxed out the fuel higher but had to turn it back down. Lol

Did you even look at his dyno? This car makes good power for what it is.

ZGLASS, congrats on the 800 hp. That's very impressive.

No way around the issues building boost in 1st and 2nd with a rear-mount (they require more load), but I genuinely applaud you for trying something different and not making the same mistakes most rear mount guys do. Guessing you wrapped the hotside pipes to keep heat in? Have not seen your detailed build thread yet.

What is your scavenge pump setup like? And do you trust it? Failed oil scavenge pumps were my biggest fear on rear mounts, but I also had a good friend run 600+whp through a stock-cam LS2 GTO M6 for years at 10psi beating the **** out of it with no motor issues only scavenge pump woes which the STS kits were plagued by for a good 4-6 years...

Keep us posted. And f*** anyone who tries to put your setup down. The 5.3 is a tried and true, working man's 2JZ for boost, and you are making close to 1000bhp on pump gas in a 3200# car with the weight where it's needed (out back).

Cheers, brother!

turbo werx exa pump setup below the turbo, check valve before turbo and after the pump. Its working flawless so far.

Boost builds stupid fast in every gear. No problems at any time with building boost or throttle response. Car weighed 3150 when i weighed it last weekend.

for proof this is second gear at 45-50 not brake boosting instant spool and wheel spin. I let my buddy hit it then i hit it.

Also plan to forge the bottom end after summer with a turbo cam. Ill be using a s476r HO setup with quick spool valve. should make a 1000whp and still spool as fast as it does now.
