LSX & 90mm TB results
After: 420 RWHP, 400 RWTQ
Decent gain, considering the fact my heads suck (JPR S2). I would expect a gain of 20-25 RWHP could be expected with good flowing heads.
The gains were entirely between 5500-6500 RPMs, but the intake lost nothing down low.
Tuning is a must to maximize the LSX, the first dyno pull prior to tuning showed ZERO GAIN. The LSX leaned out the A/F ratio, so Jeff had to richen it up and pull timing to find max power. Best power was made with 27 degrees of timing, with the LS6 intake I made best power with 30 degrees.
The 90mm seems like the way to go. You can use it if you go bigger, and wth H/C you will still see some gains, and lose nothing down low.
Agains, thanks for the info.

13 HP for ~$1300 is not a great HP per dollar ratio, IMO. Probably that money would be better spent on a good pair of ported heads...but if you already have heads and cam, its a worthwhile mod for those looking for every last HP.
And JPR heads have proven not to be the best ported LS1 heads on the market
, so I really think better heads will benefit more from the extra air. Trending Topics

About 7 HP. The other 6 HP came from getting the A/F ratio dialed in.
I agree. And better heads and/or more cubes will benefit more. I also want to point out that I did no porting or port matching with the intake, so there may be more gains to be found there.
Drivability is actually improved...throttle response is crisper; I guess due to the larger TB. For example, 5% throttle opening of a 90mm TB is gonna let in a lot more air than 5% throttle on a 75mm TB.
