Why don't you give us a little more info on the setup and what car/truck this is going in. Both of those heads are top tier heads that can make great power when the supporting mods are well thought out.

i think you'll need a really large bore for those tfs heads.... if i'm not mistaken... i think i remember those needing 4.1 or larger bore

Also, quite a few 408 builds with LS3 style heads. Here are a few I found.

I used the TFS215s on my 402 LS2 and had great results. Just opened the chambers up to 4"

You can't go wrong with either of those heads OP if you're sticking with cathedral ports.

The PRC 247's will work in a 408 application provided the bore has been taken out to the standard 4.030 bore or larger. You would be hard pressed to find a better cathedral head and that matches or beats our price.

Flow numbers aren't the end all be all when considering heads. It's more about the heads being the centerpiece and making sure they have the correct parts around them to optimize the build. Either of those heads would be great with the right supporting parts.

Wanna go fast? TFS245 IMO. Ton of proven cars out there going fast with the proven TFS245. They will fit fine on a 4.030" bore. I'm about to run a set on mine....

Order those through BTR and he will get you some of his special touches to them that none of the production heads get. The devils in the details!

Damn near all the 9 second and faster cars we have done have tfs heads on them. I ran 235's last year and went 10.0 on motor and 8.48 on nitrous. I'm switching to tfs 245's this year with the nitrous exhaust port and also going from a super victor to a mast intake.

Both are great cylinder heads & you cant go wrong with either. Checkout the dyno results in the hot rod magazine. It was before the 247 PRC heads were released, but the 237 heads were great & I have personally watched the 247s make a few more peak hp over the 237s. I have a 418 with 247s in the shop right now that makes 760 flywheel hp

I made 565 whp thru a powerglide and 9" on 93 octane. But I really don't pay much attention to what a car dynos thru a 2 or 3 speed trans. It was just on there to get a base tune in her. I have a different converter in it now and I plan to dyno it again before swapping the heads, cam, intake. Thanks I'm hoping to be somewhat competitive in ultra street an run it in lsx true street.
