Default 5.3+TC78 results

So I Dynoed my car yesterday to get a baseline and here's the results.
Car 93 Z28
Engine 180k 5.3 jy opened top ring gap, 241 heads ls6 intake ls6 cam& springs
Transmission, t56 ls7 clutch
Turbo, TC78 .96 AR flipped truck manifolds 2.5 crossover, 3" downpipe to a flow master with a cutout in front of the rear tire
Fuel, mix 70% 91 octane 30%e85
1st run 10 psi cutout closed
2nd run 12 psi cutout open
3rd run 19 psi cutout open
Why do you think I'm picking up that much tq on the 3rd run but not that much hp?

Running too lean at high boost/high rpm, not enough fuel to support the power

Yeah my friend has Efi live and he has been helping me tune it, so we will be adjusting it to give it more fuel definetly.

Good results! The spike could be a bad ignition connection on the dyno. How much timing is in it? Looks like it needs some better valve springs as well.

Thanks, dI believe it has 15 deg, my friend is the one that's tuning it but I'm sure it's not more than that, also I agree on the springs the thing was to get the swap done and the car running and upgrade as I go, I'm looking at the PAC 1218 in the near future.

Its a dynojet, so have the shop pull up the 19 psi graph. Set the Top graph have hp and Tq, 2nd graph have the x axis be engine speed and the Y axis be drum speed. It should be a flat line rising up from left to right. If it has a dip or curve to it, you have either wheel or clutch spin

We believe it pulled timing but wasn't able to monitor it, it was only a baseline dyno, but it did lean out on the 19psi run so most likely it picked up some knock so it spiked like that, we will be adding fuel and tweaking the tune a ill bit and go back to the dyno hopefully this summer.

Outside of what has been mentioned, the reason you picked up a ton of torque and not much HP is likely due to the turbine being tapped out in the upper rpm. You made peak torque early and when it came time to carry the horsepower you were out of turbine.

Someone cue up Amazing Grace on bagpipes for this LS7 clutch...it is on borrowed time above 12-15psi. :-p

Props for a solid 5.3L build. Lots of folks in my area doing this. $500 motor, regap rings, clean up pistons, use stock heads or 317s with an LS6 cam or small duration 220s cam, select turbo...profit.

Folks are seeing 550-600whp on low boost (10-14psi) and 800-850whp on 18-22psi, and the motors are LIVING under it. Blows my mind.

Thanks yeah we'll see how the ls7 clutch holds up for now before I need an upgrade.
