OK I'm looking for a cam for my car, i want a loud choppy idle, high peak HP and i dont give 2 ***** about "drivability" it is NOT a daily thats what my truck is for, i drive it for fun. After reading around i really like the "T-rex" but since thunder racing is no more thats out (unless someone makes a copy)
I've also seen the g5x3 and MS4 but I'm just wondering what other options are out there??
I would really like to see some dyno sheets of people running these cams or others that make over 400whp on stock 241 heads, stock intake, bolt ons etc...
My car setup:
2001 Formula M6 with bolt ons,
Lid
Ported throttle body
stock LS6 intake
Long tubes & off road Y pipe
4.30 gears
stock 241 heads

Well, you've got the Futral Motor Sports Godzilla cam, the Polluter, the Vindicator, the T-Rex, MS4, MS3, Texas Speed's Giant cam, and the infamous Hellion cam from Flowtech Inductions (Ed Curtis). There are others out there as well. One nice thing about the Hellion is it's huge, makes killer top end power, but has better under the curve power than most of the other "donkey dicks".

I have the BTR Stage IV. Car is loud as **** and has a great idle to it. Search Youtube for Brian Tooley Stage IV idle. Mine is the pewter Z28. I don't have dyno numbers yet cuz my new fuel pump hasn't arrived. I'll gladly post them when I get them though.
Specs for the cam are: 235/242 .621/.593 111+3

im not looking to fly cut i want to leave the stock heads on and change the springs out.
im also probably not gonna rev over 6500/6700 on the stock bottom end so something that makes power up to 8k is useless. What i want is to make over 400whp for as long as possible and have a nasty idle lope (yes i know sound means nothing as far as power)
I had read that the T-rex was one of the nastiest and most extreme cams you could get for an ls1 on stock heads but most of what i read was threads from 10 years ago and now its not available off the shelf anymore, so i was wondering if within the past 10 years with advancements in technology something better "off the shelf" had come around.
If anyone has dyno's that make 400+whp on a similar setup to mine id love to see them along with your cam specs.

I am going to order the BTR stage 4 very soon. I have been impressed with the numbers Ive seen and people swear the drivability is great. Also no need to flycut. Check it out

You don't need a "donkey dick" cam to get a nice lope and 400 rwhp. As long as you've got the basic bolt-ons like headers, exhaust, lid you can get there with something along the lines of a Torquer V2 or similar size cam. Your drivability will be better, you'll make more under the curve power, yet still obtain 400 rwhp. My suggestion would be to get with a vendor on here and get a custom cam. Also, getting the most out of the setup while making sure drivability is good is all in the tune. A shitty tune can make a 224r cam drive like **** while a spot on tune can make a MS3 cam drive like stock.

OP my eps 234/246 cam on a 111 lsa sounds awesome. Dyno at 427 rwhp with slicks and 4.56 in a 9 inch. M6 car and runs in the 10s. One thing I will say I you want a giant came in a otherwise stock LS1 with the normal bolt on stuff, you better be light and have gears or little pissy cam cars or properly set up light cam and head cars will rock you. And of course new 5.0 run damn good. If you have supporting mods for a big cam then go crazy. If it's 3400lbs race weight or higher it will be a slug. Edit!!! Gears look ok seen the 4.30 lol
