You can do it for $6k if you do a lot of the labor yourself.

My ls1 car made 439rwhp through a stalled 4l60 . There is a dyno thread on it too. Its ha a torquer v2 cam in it. Both cars have good street manners ,could easily daily drive either one.

I bought my ls2 aluminum block from a friend for $500 . It was used and bare. I bought used rods and pistons and crank all from different engines. My ls1 is the one that came in my car.
