Default Stock LS1 98 WS6 1LE Dyno Results - with a twist

102k miles on car but engine was replaced 30k miles ago under warranty by dealer. New heads are 241 castings so I think these make a little more HP than stock 98 castings. Car is all stock with paper air filter and stock single on the left cat-back. 33 degrees air temps.

320 hp and 338 tq

Will redyno in a week after these are installed:
-LS6 intake
-accufab throttle body
-aluminum flywheel
-speed engineering 1 7/8 headers and off-road Y pipe (keeping stock cat-back)

Don't see too many '98 1LE cars! Those numbers seem right on par without headers and LS6 intake. The upcoming mods you list, with a tune, will really wake that car up.

For reference, my '98 SS put down 307/324 with a direct-flo air lid and SLP loudmouth exhaust. Adding my QTP set up was the best thing I've done.

My 02 A4 made 317 whp 332 wtq with hooker LT's, FM exhaust, slp 1.85 rockers, 3.73 gears and a STOCK lid. After I put a SLP lid on it power jumped to 330/345. Not bad for a auto. I then put a FTI 3800 stall, Kooks 1 7/8 LT's with True dual exhaust. Not sure on power but the car traps 115-116 @ 3300lbs.

King - I've always loved your '02 Z28! That thing has got to fly with the Kooks 1 7/8 LT's, true dual set up, and a fat stall. I'd be curious what she puts down now with a tune.

Subbed.

Solid results. Looking forward to new numbers with those headers. I have em myself. Curious to hear what it sounds like through stock cat back with that setup.

Thanks for the clip, but it was a weeeee bit too short.

So how does it sound running headers and an offroad Y through the factory catback? Your opinion?

haha sorry dude - i'll make a longer one shortly.
I was very pleasantly surprised. it sounds aggressive but not obnoxious or super loud. Almost rumbled like it had a small cam. I'm definitely not gonna be shopping for a cat-back. i'll stick with this one.

Headers and aluminum flywheel gave 25 hp and 14 ft/lbs of torque but made the car very lean (13.7 a/f ratio). Just a guess that richening it up to 12.8'ish would give add'l 5-8 hp. Waiting on LS6 intake and bigger throttle body before getting a tune.
