Default What can I expect from my first dyno and run?

I would very much appreciate it if you could tell me what you think I should expect from my first dyno and track runs with my current vehicle, based on my sig below. I don't want to expect too much and then be disappointed. Thanks for your time.

Note:

It has a Superchip Programmer tune that works well and it also has 245/50ZR/16 Goodyear Eagle HP Ultra Plus tires which are dry traction rated 8.7 (on a scale of 10) and I'm in Central Florida as far as sea level is concerned. I'm said to be an average-to-good track driver.

Default I have to question this one.

From light-to-light (0-80) I beat an LT1 (3:73 gears) with nearly the exact same mods. The difference was that he had a Hotcam installed. I still beat him by a carlength and a half and he additionally had a LS1Edit tune/295 ET Streets ... saw the dude at the pumps two days later pouring in octane booster ... lol!!! Talked to him there at the pumps and he pulled his timeslip from the track and his best ET was 12.7, so, reason tells me that I have waaaaaay more than near-stock HP.

Also, several H/C mustangs, a new Mach1, and 2 supercharged '03-'04 Cobra's have fallen back in my rearview rather quickly ... before my gear change last week. My fiance' bought a 2002 the same day I bought my '99 about 2 years ago. hers was new and mine was used with only 6,000 miles on it. I would pull on her everytime without much problem. Now, it's like she's in a golf cart when she sneaks up on me an floors it. She has 3:23 gears and is supposed to a little faster than me. I think I just got a good engine which also adapted well to the mods I've done so far.

Thanks for taking a stab. LOL ... hope you're waaaay wrong ... will post results of dyno and ET Slip when completed in about 2 weeks.

If your pulling away from 03 cobras with your listed mods you have the baddest 99 I've ever heard about.

Default Let me add a note ...

Both Cobra's were on the interstate at about 55 mph, not from a standing start. I just watched them fall back I think they were just geared a little higher and didn't have the upper power range advantage. From a start, they'd beat me out, but, I'd catch 'em before I hit 3rd (A4).

The new Mach1, from a standing start, gave me a good go and I miraculously didn't spin hardly at all. He hit second (manual) and his nose got just ahead of me and then I hit 2nd (A4) and pulled on him just under 50 mph. By the time I hit 70 mph, he was over a car length behind me and quickly losing ground. This was on a 4-lane and I let off soas not to endanger traffic that we were approaching.

This skinny guy nice shiney red '04 Corvette pulled up at a redlight about 2-3 months ago. My son was with me (150 lbs) and I had just filled the tank up. It wasn't even fun because he was so slow. At the next light, he wouldn't look at me at first. Then, just before the light changed, he said, 'Damn, that things really runs with a supercharger'. I told him that I don't have one and he asked me to pull over and prove it. I changed lanes and followed him and we pulled over. He told me he had never been beat that bad by any F-body or Mustang.

I don't ever pick on anyone ... just answer their call when they F*** with me.

Something is wrong with that. There is NO WAY you pulled a supercharged 03/04 Cobra on the interstate. I hear that 3rd is their "power gear". FYI all stock 03/04 cobras have a 3.55 axle I believe, with their manual transmission. Same with wasting the corvette. Are you sure you can tell the s/c cobras from the older ones? All you have is shorties, with cats, new y-pipe and a borla that I see for making power. Get on that dyno and see what you really have.

ummm can someone say they are trying to glorify their car a lil to much... I THINK SO...

My friend has a 2000 Transam TH400 with a 3200 stall... He has a H/C package (stage 2), headers (LT), ORYP (NO CATS) ALL the suspension work u can think of. 12 bolt and all the other little misc things. He has done his car right... about 30 grand in the whole (NON ADDER) he ran 12.3 in Nitto 315/35/17 555r's

My other buddy has a 2003 Cobra M6 with pulleys/18's (they spin all day long)/intake/and a program from the diablo tuner. He is putting down 420-430 at the wheels. (thats the range he dynoed.)

They raced from a stop... Transam had him out of the hole... But the Cobra got close once he hit 2nd... They went for awhile and the cobra was close to a car lenght behind the whole time except out of the whole.

From the highway they started at 70 and went to 140... The cobra was right there side by side with him and even started pulling on him a lil.

My friend in the transam is above 500 at the crank. And he cant even pull on an 03 Cobra like your saying you are. Come on now... We all love our F-bodies but there is no reason to make your car sound like it runs 10's out of the factory. Im just stating what i have seen and what i believe. I might be wrong but u sound like you havent took a **** in a LOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG time... Go sit on the toilet and get rid of the bullshit your full of.

My .02 pennies.

Default 4.6 supercharged SVT Cobra makes 390 @ ????

blkZ28spt - 390 Flywheel HP? at 6000 rpm's??? What do you think that equates to in RWHP at 5200 rpm's???? I'd like to hear your math. They have GREEEAAAT torque (390 lb.-ft. @ 3,500 rpm) and you're right about the 8.8-in. ring gear with 3.55:1 limited-slip differential. They weigh stock 3668 lbs. (coupe) and the convertibles are even 120+lbs heavier.

Dude, I respect your constructive opinion. Sorry you doubt my post, however, the only thing I can do is post my numbers when I get 'em. If you are in the Orlando area, look me up and this ole Tennessean'll take ya' huntin' ... fer snakes ... ... teasing with ya' Z ... thanks for replying.

Stock '03 - '04 SVT Cobra? Anyone with boltons have trouble beating them?

Default MoonleyZ28 .. did what you said.

Took a good one man ... felt great! Look, the LT1 Cam car I beat gave me the best run ... had a best time slip of 12.7 that he produced. As for loving the F-body's, well, I guess we all do, but, over-glorifying it? The second-best race I had was from the Mach 1, which is rated only at 330 crank HP ... not the Cobra, so, maybe they weren't '03 - '04's. They sure looked new and had what appeared 275 tire on them, which were what shipped on the later model Cobra's. The guy in the first Cobra said his was a suoewrcharged '03. It is possibe that he could have been lying about it.

I'll dyno next week and next weekend I'll run it at Bithlo. Hopefully, the numbers will back up what I have been saying. If not, hey, the TREX cam/PTB and LSX intake are going in and a good dyno tune will take care of any areas that might be lacking. I'll post the numbers before the cam install ... no matter how low they might be ... thanks for replying.

ur buddy with the transam putting 500hp at the crank should be pulling 11 sec times all day long i no i did with all bolt ons and a cam in my auto with a 3200 stall converter ...hes running 12.3 he must be pulling some bad 60 foot times with that converter a good set of rubber and all that suspention work easy 1.7 or better with all that power should easily run mid to upper 11s also depending on the gearing in the transam 70mph may be a dead spot

Speed Inc. said he is good for 11.6's for sure all day long... His 60 foots suck due to no traction. we drag up at GLD in wisconsin. He now has slicks in the back and skinny's up front. When he was on the nitto's he had to feather it out of the whole and them get going... With the slicks he plans on dropping at around 3500 and plans on hitting 11's all day. Its rained so much here he hasnt got to bring it to the track so when it dries up.... we will be there. Bye.

Stock '03 - '04 SVT Cobra? Anyone with boltons have trouble beating them?
Want to know my math? Ford rating those cobras at 390 is crap. They easily make 365rwhp bone stock. A few bolt ons (i think it was nittos, pulley, CAI, and exhaust) puts them into the 11's. Not only that, they don't launch very well, they have the advantage (POWER) vs you on a 55mph roll. Do a search for them, you will see, there were three threads yesterdya alone asking about 03/04 Cobras. You CANNOT go by factory ratings. This is one Cobra that we can't smack around About time Ford did it right and gave them power!!!!

I think you'll put down around 310rwhp/335rwtq and prolly run high 12s if you can stick.

JEB, your a bit dilusional about your ride. i concure with everyone else about there guess of 320rwhp. only thing worth anything is the borla and cutout. the rest will add maybe 15rwhp. like the HPPIII power tune the superchips **** is junk. as already stated the 03' cobra's are underated just like the ls1, 370rwhp is about the average for an 03 dyno.

Default Ok jrp ... I'll have to call ya' ...

I'll post the dyno's when I get them. Do a search on my name ... JEB99TA ... and you'll pull up a post in Gears & Axles. The average estimate (from prominent members of this board) is about 340 RWHP and about 350 RWTQ ... not the figures you are giving.

And my ride, well, it's not that great a aprt of my life, but, I do enjoy it a lot ... mainly becasue my son and I bond by working on it and seeing the results of the mods that he helps me with.

If I have such poor RWHP, then, why do I keep beating these other cars? As I stated earlier. I may very well have been mistaken about the Mustangs being '03 or '04 Cobra's. One of the guys I beat told me his was a '03 Cobra. I don't know why he would lie, especially after I beat him.

Anyway, I'll post dyno and times in less than two weeks. If I produce the ****-for-RWHP you say I will, I'll personally post the biggest apology you have ever had ... both to you and everyone else. Fair enough?
