Default New LS402 Build - Dyno Results.....

Hey Guys. I've just finished my Nitrous Motor build. The old motor only made 420 rwhp n/a on almost the identical set-up except the custom Nitrous CAM swap. Anything else that changed is highligted with **NEW**. Old custom Diamond Pistons held up for 250 runs at 250 shot. On tear-down piston #8 was cracked and 3 others were rocking. Cracked piston sent back to Diamond for analysis and request for stronger piston that could compensate for the longer stroke. They re-designed the piston out of billet, moved the ringlands down to allow more material up top and added verticle gas ports.

I'm wondering how much difference you guys think the cam swap and other changes will make n/a? The motor is obviously built for nitrous and I plan on hitting it with 250-300 shot on regular basis. Best run on the old combo was 10.05 at 137 on a 250 shot and NANO (1.5 - 60ft). Definately going for 9s this year. Appreciate any feedback on the build and what rwhp you think it will make n/a?

Was previous Engine LS1 or LS2?
Is Fast Intake Ported?

FAST is not ported and previous motor LS2 based as well. Previous LS2 block ballooned at top of cylinders - was rebuilt twice (Honed 4.06 last time) and had over 500 runs on it! Sure hope you are right at over 500 rwhp!

Depends on the dyno, but at least 500 I'm going to say

500-520rwhp/480-490rwtq is my guess.

Torque won't be quite as high on motor at peak or under the curve due to early EVO event that is biased towards nitrous.

Default Dyno numbers.....

I don't have the graphs yet but made 476 rwhp unlocked and 505 rwhp locked on a DynoJet. I'm pretty happy with those numbers. I'll post Nitrous results in Nitrous section.

I did not think the difference between an unlocked and a locked converter would be 29 horsepower. That is a lot and sure makes a difference between dyno pulls.

I've seen as much as a 40rwhp difference between locked and unlocked.

Depends on how efficient the converter is.
