My LS2 based 402 w 235/242 111+3, prc cnc 243s, fast 102/NW 102 TB made 537 thru a 6spd w/4.10s. My compression is tad higher @ 11.5. I have owned quite a few 8.5 10 bolts and they are pretty tough. Hard launch on slicks always tests the driveline though..

So the 8.5 10 bolt should be alright for a little? I won't be launching hard I don't have a transbrake installed because this car is going to be my daily driver. So my setup is pretty stout then?

IMHO for a street car it is. Mine is also mainly for the street with a few trips down the 1/4 mile to she what she will do. In my car the the power peaks at 6200 rpm and the shifting is all in by 6500.

I am going to change the cam out to a Cam Motion low lash solid roller to get more power under the curve. Also I am waiting on the Vararam VR-X intake manifold. I am hoping between the two I will get 50 more horsepower.

Do you think asking for 10.99 is asking a little too much on my setup n/a?

No, if the car is set up right. Speedtigger has gone in upper tens with his 1965 Buick Skylark. He has a 6.0 liter motor. So it is certainly doable. By the way that is the goal for my car.

i would get a better set of lifters than the ls7,get the compression up to at least 11.5-11.7 and a cam in the 240s intake and 250s exhaust.its a 408 so it can handle this very easy.i dont no your race weight but my buddy has a 404 iron block with tea 243 heads torquer v2 cam which is way to small fast 92 intake 3400 stall he runs 10.80 n/a at 3900lb.if he change the cam it probably would run 10.50 daily driver

You have the 427 though so that should be easy.

I've seen a lot of people bash the ls7 lifters. What's wrong with them? Why don't people like them? Can you not spin the rpms up with them? I won't be taking it to the strip often. Once or twice a year.

The 86 cutlass is a light car too. 3250 is the original curb weight. The new engine is all aluminum and I have billet specialties wheels. So the car with me in it should be less than 3500lb. I'm 250 though haha.

Remember guys this is primarily a street car. A camshaft in the 240 range is going to have a fairly lumpy idle. So it will be up to the OP to make that decision on how radical of a cam he wants and how much surging he can live with.

Yeah, it's mainly a street car. My main goals are 10.99 or better and embarrass all the 5.bros that are on the street that think their cars are race cars. I want to put them in their place.

How much power did you pick up after getting the heads CNC ported? I've been thinking about doing that and a FAST 90/90 intake before a 150 shot.

Not saying it's impossible but it will be really hard to go 10s on stock suspension.. not saying it hasn't been done either lol.

Just purchased upper and lower adjustable control arms so the stock suspension is no more.

I did the heads and custom cam when the 408 was built.
