Car made 485/457 on a Dynojet. Has LS7 Maf setup but was tuned in speed density. Its not a very generous dyno, made 400/380 on the same dyno with the 5.7 setup, TFS215s, 228 cam, Ls6 intake 3 yrs ago & the car went 11.50s @ 120. I'm sure the 4.11s & 9 inch don't help the #s & true duals would free up some hp. I'm not too concerned with the #s that much, will get it to the track soon see what it runs. Car feels really strong!

Dynos are all over the place. That is why it is hard to compare one dyno to another. What transmission is in the car?

Looks like you will be taking it to the track. That will tell the tale for sure. I bet it pulls real strong.

I'd like to do that but don't really wanna cut the intermediate pipe up, part of the gmmg exhaust. I'd like to get the TSP true dual dumps that slide right on my headers. They were like $270 on ebay but I couldn't find them last I looked. I'm just gonna run it like it is for now as it's got such insane acceleration as it is!

I see this was at Jakes Performance. Are you sure about it being low reading dyno cause my buddy's HCI LS1 made 445 rwhp on that dyno. It had PRC LS6 heads, Vindicator cam, LS6 intake with long tubes and full bolt ons. It had stock 3.42's on a 6-speed as well. Wouldn't worry about the number...see how it compares to your old 5.7 at the track

Does your buddy have a black 02 z? I seen one there 3 years ago at a dyno day. The reason I say this dyno isn't generous is I only picked up 20 whp with a set of Trickflow heads with my LS1, & that was over my cam only on a mustang dyno at Vector. But I also went from a 10 bolt w/ 3.73s to a 9 w/ 4.11s & that robs more power. I figured I would be around 500whp & 470-480 tq. Don't care though, the car flies!

The guy that tuned the car said its the most he's seen one of these make. I don't know if he's for real about that, maybe he hasn't seen very many LS3s in Fbodies. He kept saying "In the real world!" lol! He did say its a good combo & the car doesn't have a dead spot at all!

I was at Milan last night for the Mayhem race. Just spectating though. Still breaking the motor in on street tires letting these guys with a tire on theirs get out on me before I freight train em lol! I'll get my tires on soon & make some passes at Lapeer. Going to No Ets at Milan next month.

Yes they do! Needed a new bottom end anyway after spinning a bearing, figured it be worth it to kick it up a notch! A set of TDs will help.

Congrats on getting it going. For what it is, not bad at all and I bet its completely streetable.

When I look at this setup, reminds of what GM should have put in that car from the factory.

Looking forward to ET/MPHS.

Putting that down on a stingy dyno with a non-optimal exhaust and a 9" eating up some hp? You sir have a beast on your hands.

Awesome build man! Nice flat curve. You think it feels strong now, wait until you put the TD's on.

Yea with that & an UD pulley I'd probably be over 500whp. Didn't wanna spend any more $$$ & I've heard some run hotter from the water pump not spinning as fast. Not in a big hurry to get the TDs, may not be until next year. Wanna see what it does like it sits 1st.

Thanks man! Looking at the list of conversion stuff I had to buy it seemed like it might be kinda a PITA. Wasn't that bad really. A few extension harnesses, different valley cover, relocating the knock sensors, different cam gear & timing cover was about all there was to it. It would've been a lot cheaper like $2k to make a 383 out of my LS1 block but I wanted the extra cubes & IMO the LS3 top end is hard to beat! I would've had to buy a cathedral port FAST intake for that 383 to get the most out of it. LS3 valley cover is a better PCV system too! I ended up deleting EVAP purge valve also.

Its very streetable, doesn't drive much different than my old setup, just more power. Uses a lil more gas. Was gonna put the A/C back on it but since summer is almost over I probably won't.

I bet it runs awesome the way it is. A couple things I remember after getting an UD pulley years ago were: runs a bit hotter(as you said), voltage dips at idle, & a/c doesn't perform as well.
