Default LS6 with Tsunami Cam results

So my LS1 got hydrolocked at a pretty messed up time in life, but the fog has lifted and I finally got my car back on the road yesterday! It's been 8 months and its been tough on a college student budget but here are the results.

Overall I am super happy with the setup. the 235/240 .629 .615 Cam from Texas Speed has really good Driveability and the car just revs so freely and without any vibration or anything. Over my last setup (241's and 228r) the drivability didnt suffer and I picked up 40 RWHP and 30 RWTQ. Final numbers on the 5th and final pull were 413/380! The car has full exhaust, SLP lid and the cam. Using TSP dual .660 springs. I cant believe how much smoother it revs and how you dont even realize your at 3k in 5th on the freeway. Car pulls hard! Going to do heads in another 6-8 months but just glad shes running again!

Looks about right for that type of cam on your set up on a dyno jet **** starts getting real at like 4800-5000 rpm. No fuel pump or injectors? I can image your injector duty cycle is up there.

It's going to get hot soon and you're going to wish you had injectors. Best to baby that thing in the heat of the day. The hotwire harness would be a good idea too, at minimum. What intake setup are you running? You would benefit greatly from duals.

Yeah any other mods and the LS6 injectors are going to have to go! The car is running a complete LS6 setup including intake. The only duals I found that exit the back are the kooks and man is it expensive lol! I was thinking about some Bosch 36's but I'll do it with the FAST 102 im planning.

I believe he uses a dyno jet. And I agree I thought it was low myself, but have no idea why it's low.

Just curious if a clutch that isn't bled properly will cause minor slippage. Any thoughts?

Clutch not being bled well will just cause disengagement problems not engagement problems.

Great job buddy! Now we have got to get you into a set of the PRC 225 as cast so we can blow past the 450rwhp mark with ease!!

Yeah I was thinking about doing heads (either the ones you mentioned or DARTs or port my 243's. Haven't quite decided yet), FAST 102, morel lifters and Injectors next! That may be put on hold though. I am not sure if my clutch was slipping on these runs or not. For a 1/4 mile pass it slips at the very begining of 4th then seems to grab but I am not 100% sure. I am gong to have it re-bled in case there is air in there expanding when it gets hot and pushing on my pressure plate slightly.

But yeah I am happy with the cam. its moody when cold and isnt too happy below 1300 or so rpm but overall I am happy. Pulls hard in midrange and big end.

Do these numbers seem low to anyone else? I'm not sure if my clutch is slipping too much but I notice it slip for a slit second shifting into 4th or 5th at 6600. Would that be a bad enough slip to cause low dyno numbers?

Also when I raced my buddy's cat back only 15' 5.0, I give him the Jump at say 50 mph and it takes me till about the top of 3rd gear or middle of 4th to pass him. Something just doesn't seem right so I'm curious as to what y'all think.

Well.....if you really want the car to accelerate you'll take that ls7 clutch out and throw it in the garbage

^^^^ this^^^^

You'd be amazed at how much the car wakes up on a lighter clutch. I was skeptical before, and having done it, any future car I have this will be one of the first mods.

Car needs more gear to take advantage of that cam.

So is the clutch just too heavy or does it not grab well? I can testify that it takes its time to stop slipping into 4th.

3.90's aren't enough gear? What ratio would you recommend? It breaks the tires loose really easily I'm 1 and 2.

Just curious to learn a bit more about what you mean. He did a good job last time. Why not in a good way?
