I would attribute the peak rpm more on the ls6 intake.
I'm not being negative, but I have witnessed cam only cars may 420 rwhp. But I know the cam specs on them and they were little more than mild cams.

It has a nice hp curve, wish it showed the torque curve a well.

Either way 426 hp is super fun to drive and nothing to take lightly. Enjoy it.

Congratulations on getting your TA a heads & cam package installed & dyno'd.

Do you have a print out of the torque curve?

426 hp will be a lot of fun to drive.

No, this was a Summit Dyno Day. All they gave me was HP. Would have like to have seen the TQ too

I get it, thanks man

I have about 3,000 on it now. Really regret the LS7 lifters, super noisey ( third set of PR different preloads). Just have to live with it. When I put 30,000ish miles on theses valve springs. If the engine makes it, I will fix put some better lifters.

you can graph the torque in excel since you have hp and rpm, it's a basic equation.

426 on a heads cam car isn't bad if that's what he is looking for. If you want diveability and low end torque this is probably a great package. Can a cam only car make 420ish yes but the drivability will be much different.

Yeah, I actually talked to him yesterday. And this thread came up. He spec the cam to what we talk about, daily driving, and more bark then bite. He already had a good idea of my driving style and how often I go to the track (Being a Friend and my local Machanist on other project.)

Very nice build. Im impressed. I'd much rather have 425rwhp at 5800rpm than 500rwhp at +6500rpm with no guts below 4000rpm needing a huge stall making it good at nothing but WOT.

425rwhp with no loss of driveability will be a hoot to drive, and should still net you somewhat decent mpg when crusing.

I have put a good bit of miles on the car driving it to work alot (roughly 70 miles round trip). Call it maybe 4,000 miles, alot of highway miles. Im around 18 mpg combined. Before the upgrade, I was 22 mpg combined.

Went to the track this weekend. Fastest time was 12.95 @ 111 mph on Street tires. Hardest I launched on the stock rear end was 1800 rpms (best 60' 2.1). Very happy, ran the car 6 times shifting around 5800 rpm. Progressively leaving alittle harder, till I ran a 12 and stopped. I enjoy driving this car too much, too tear it up (Im lucky to go to the track once a year).

Why were you only shifting at 5800? I understand if you love to baby the car and rarely rev it up (sounds like me), but you should be able to very very safely shift at 6300-6500 and see what the car is actually capable of. Spinning the motor to 6500 once in a great while will not, or should not hurt it one tiny bit. Your mph is slightly higher than typical intake & exhaust 6-spd cars.

Yeah.....that's a bit low considering where your HP peak is.....6300 RPM shifts and you could shave at least .3 seconds off your ET.

Nice combo!

being a 2002 it would not hurt it to spin it up to 68-7000 rpm. Stock cam LS1 should be spun to 62-6300 rpm let alone a heads/cam car.

figured I needed to shift right at my peak hp. Now I'm curious

Oh no... next time try shifting 500-700rpm past your peak hp and see how that differs from your peak hp at 5800.

And at very least 3 mph I'd hope. 111mph trap out of a full weight, ~426whp, mild heads/cam 6-spd 4th gen in okay/decent weather is about as slow as I've ever heard of.
