Default Dyno Pulls

Put the Z28 on the dyno a couple weeks ago. As far as I know, it is stock with the exception of an SLP lid. I was hoping for around 300hp so I was pretty happy.

Power was dropping at 5300. Why spin higher?

Was just wondering. Stock rev limiter is 6200 and I would always take it to 6200. I ran 13.2 stock that way

I wasn't behind the wheel on these pulls. When I run it through the gears, I generally shift at 6,000 RPM. It does feel like it slacks off a bit the last 300 RPM or so. Gonna get a tune in it this winter at some point and see if we can fix that.

tune isnt gonna fix the power peaking at 5300 RPM, thats where the cam stops making power, bigger intake and TB, headers and full exhaust might help maintain power over 5300 RPM but the cams duration sorta determines where the power peaks at. Some higher ratio rockers might help push it up a few hundred RPM. I shift at 5700 RPM in my stock LS1 with a Lid and a few free mods.

Me too, 13.28, then i lowered my shift point to 5700, and with free mods and a drag pack ran 12.78s....id like to take my car back to the track and see what shifting at over 6k would cost me, but ill be doing more mods over the winter so it wont happen.

My car peaks at 6k and I have always gotten the best results at 6200 shifts. Car would lose races if it shifted at anywhere around 5,500 and won if 6200.
I would say not all ls1 are equal. But my 13.20 had been run with an air filter so full of dirt and sand it coated the ground when I kept smacking like a pair of dirty shoes. I then gained so much I couldn't stick for any more runs. And I really tried

Runs 12.8 with 2.1 60' now with headers, catless and free mods but I can't cut a 60' to save the queen.

Get a 3600. I nearly went with a 3200 but these folks on here talked me into at least a 3600. Some crazy folks even suggested a 4K. I'm very glad I went with the 3600 and sometimes wish I would have done a 4K. My 60's went from 2.0-2.1 down to 1.70 when I did the 3600 and DR's. E/t's went from 13.0 to 12.2 also.
