Thanks guys.. I would like to know who has 650rwhp. If it is a complete C5R motor it should dyno over 650rwhp.. If we have already reached over 600rwhp with LS6 heads.. I would think C5R heads would produce a lot more horsepower.

Dan Millen could put 93 Octane in his Mustang, but he'd have to run about 12 degrees of timing and about 4 psi of boost. Still doesn't make it a street-car. Nor does the fact that he took it to Burger King.

And I'm not one to play the dyno queen game. As long as my car gets down the track faster than the guys in the next lane, I don't care how much power he makes on the dyno.

My point is that if you're going to build a motor that's going to require a mix of 103/93 to go to WOT on motor, you might as well build a motor that's going to take 116 to run. Why not run 14.5:1/15:1 compression and make much more power?
Just to set the record strait I drive my car on the street just about every day. I have had it back for 4 weeks and have put over 3k miles on it. The CR is 12.5 to 1 and I run 93 octane with little or no KR. If it will ever quit raining I will go to the track and then I will run a 103 mix.

Vince
Congrats on your car. I know you will have a lot of run with it.

You are right, I should have waiting to get permission from the owner before starting this.

wow, calling me a troll is really hurting my feelings

I've been on the board for about 2 years, but just lurking. I haven't dealt with LS1s much until recently, so I didn't have anything to say.

The car I'm talking about is no longer a street car. It used to be, but not anymore. But it is heavy and has a full interior. How many 9 second F-bodies still have the back seats?

I'm saving those pictures

Actually, this motor still uses the LS1 heads and block.

I've been up to the shop, but not recently. You should know what car I'm talking about because HPE is where it dyno'd!

Pretend? I said I have done some work on it. I will admit that it wasn't much at all. I helped with the throttle linkage, the black hood that was on it for a little while, and the intake ducting. When the newest engine was installed, I helped out where I could. The car was mostly done when I got there. I would have helped out with the FAST but I hate wiring and whenever I asked Chris said he didn't need any help.

Depends partly on what CR you're starting with. I'd say about 3% going from 10:1 to 11:1. Going from 11 to 12 might be more like 2.5%. From there it starts going downhill in a hurry.

Sweeet, I have family in Kilgore/Longview and it's been forever since I've seen them - probably 10 years.

Get some Bodacious BBQ while you're there if it's still around, MAN that BBQ is good !
