Default Mamo 223 fast and cam results (c5z)

Just wanted to share my results with the 223 custom cam and ported fast 92. The car made 453/403. I took it to the track last night and my best time was a 12.2 with a terrible 60.

Not bad considering the 60ft. What are the specs on the cam?

229 / 234 Custom Cam 114 + 2 615/612 lift. I was on 18 inch toyos and having clutch issues so hopefully I'll be able to get the 60 down. I have a monster clutch and am going to drop down to 17s and mt tires.

That MPH should come up with some practice too. My C5Z at 450rwhp would run 11.5@121.

That MPH seem low for that beautiful power curve at the 450 HP level. I went 120 with 434 RWHP and 123 MPH with 467 RWHP stock bottom end 6 liter at #3700. This was on a dynojet with a stalled auto. Also the car has terrible aerodynamics.

Thanks for the input. It's been a few years since I've ran on a track. My car has 390 gears so I'm assuming that affects my trap speed.

Numbers look good and the track performance is pretty good too considering you're probably at or above 8000' feet in NM, yeah?

Thanks. Our elevation here is 3600 ft. I used that DA calculator and it was around 6k that night.

If you trust your motor, 7300 shift point might help alot. That power curve looks so good...

Thank you sir. Your build is why I went with mamo parts. My goal is 11s the way it sits and then do a bottle.

Thank you! Very confident you'll do 11's just on the 60' alone.

Nice going and great having Mamo in your corner.
If one of your goals is et, I'd consider doing gears like 3.90s and practicing alot on the launch. Shoot for high 11's then mid 11's and lower. Your car is capable of 10's under the right conditions and some astute track preparation.

...just my 1/4 mile mentality coming out here.

I have an rpm trans and rear with 390s already. I really can't figure out how to get a good launch.

I can help.
When you say you have clutch issues what are you referring to?
You need the right tires and approach toward the launch depending on clutch.

I prefer Hoosiers drag radials for your car/setup if you had to go with a drag radial.
The best way to learn the launch in a c5Z is with a bias ply slick.
If you can get a 16" rim that's even better.
Either way I can guide you and safety first.

The clutch seems to be dragging, the car rolls a little while I try to put in gear and the shifter is super tight and hard to get into gear(mgw). I'm going to be changing it out for a monster twin disk. I had toyo r888 on it these runs on 18s. I just ordered mt et and am going down to 17s and skinnies in the front.
