Default Some of the lowest 231/237#'s I've seen

Here's what I have so far.

LS1 w/stock lower half.
TSP Race LS6 Heads
TSP 231/237 Cam
Patriot Gold Valvesprings
Chromemoly Pushrods
Ported Oil pump
Double roller timing chain
Meziere Electric Water Pump
ASP underdrive pulley w/alt. underdrive pulley.
LS6 Intake
Ported TB w/bumpstop mod
37# Lucas Fuel Injectors
SLP Airlid w/WS6 lower airbox
JetHot Longtubes with catted y pipe
Borla w/QTEC Cutout
TCI Streetfighter 3200 thru a 2.73 10 bolt rear axle

Here's what I got on Livernois Motorsports' Mustang dyno:

I've typically seen cars with similar mods pull between 390-470RWHP.
I know I'm at least a full point lean on the AFR, but WTF?!?!
I know I'm still rich (not as bad as it was when I got there!!! 10.8:1!!), but what went wrong?

I know now my next investment is a LM1 wideband
Damn factory O2 sensors...

Those dyno sheets are crap. Before you get too excited, go to a dyno jet model and get some SAE numbers.

lean it out.. put it on a dynojet and you'll have over 400rwhp thur an A4.. pretty good I think

btw.. I wouldn't waste time or money on a mustang dyno, the are terrible for comparing your numbers to the "standardized" dynojet everyone else uses.

Hearing people call Mustang dynos "crap" is irritating.

The Mustang dyno is a MUCH better TUNING tool than a dynojet. If you just want to tune WOT... then yes, Dynojet and its internet numbers are where it's at.

If you want to tune the car, a Mustang eddy current dyno is the way to go. How would you simulate a truck towing a 4000 lb trailer up a 3 degree incline with a dynojet? You can't. If you have a customer who is having an issue with that situation, you can simulate it with an eddy current dyno. You're SOL - left to guess, or go for a drive - with a dynojet.

If I owned a TUNING shop, I'd own an eddy current dyno for tuning, and a dynojet for internet bench racing. Hmm, seems that a shop over there -> (HPE) did that.

Yes sir.

I typically see 10-13% more on my Dynojet... Just depends on the application.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I really appreciate it.
I'm sure the car is capable of a LOT more, but without the wideband, I'm on hold for a little while. I knew the factory O2's were limited, but I never would have guessed that they would have been off by a full point and a half, especially since one of them was brand new
My first run at 10.8:1, I think it dyno'd at 304 RWHP.
Just changing to 11.6:1 got me ~47 RWHP.
So I changed the PE vs. RPM again that much, plus a little more.
I should be pretty close to 12.6:1 to 12.8:1 now.
Though there will be no nitrous runs for the year.

factory 02 sensors were never meant for anything but 14.7:1 AFR

Damn dude, on that MD(Greg's from DSW) I put down 280/292 Stock.

I got tuned at APE and Now have 383/346 with:
PP S2 5.3L heads
TSP 232/228 112 cam
Pacesetter LT's & ORY
LS6 intake

You also have cats, thats going to kill off some HP too.

Good luck, maybe we can meet up and run them to see how they match up.

Just at looking at where his car makes peak tq is weird making it at 6K rpms? Just some things i noticed maybe someone can help elaborate and take over from there?

Yeah, Greg told me he knew from the parts in it that the car had a LOT more hiding in there than 351 rwhp. But from what he also told me my first run at 10.8:1 AFR dyno'd around 304 rwhp. leaning out less than a point lowered my peak torque RPM, reduced my KR, and gained me about 47 rwhp. I had other people waiting for the dyno so I quit there, took it home and leaned it out at least that much more. I should be in the high 12's:1 now.

If you want to run 'em some time that'd be fun.
I never mind losing as long as I get to run. I'm going to try to be at MidMichigan Motorplex the next 2 wendsdays (which is the only place I screw around over 80mph) weather permitting. Come on over and have some fun

And foff667:
The car dyno'd in 3rd gear in my a4.
I've heard a few people now say that the torque curve looks strange. All I can figure is that it's the TCI Streetfighter doing it

Those numbers aren't low for a Mustang dyno. You would be right around the 400RWHP on a dynojet.

Yes, that's one of the things I don't like about the Mustang dyno. The graph is correct, but when it says what your peak power is at, it is in 250 rpm increments. Not really that big of a deal, but kind of annoying.

Are you tuning it yourself??

I would suggest having APE look at the tune man...

With those mods I would expect to see 370hp-380hp, but who knows man.
I would ditch the cats if I were you.

I know I should.
But having spent all this money on LS1Edit, EFI Live, a mail order tune from Texas Speed (which I screwed with trying to get my LTFT's negative and apparently shouldn't have), I have a hard time swallowing $550-650 more in tuning. You know it's not like buying a part with a resale value. Since I'm always adding on, the first time I add another part, all that money might as well get flushed.
I think I'll have it professionally tuned when I get the Lunati 395 stroker assembly and wet nitrous kit in. But until then I'll tinker with what I have
I've got time.

Take ls1edit to ape and have them tune it for you, pay them for dyno time...

APE did me good. Kirk over there knows his LT1/LS1's. Livernois knows there Mustangs. I was actually amazed on the little things that Kirk found out about my car during the "tunes".

Livernois is doing a ton of GM/LS1 work. They have my car now doing their head/cam package and tune. I've seen GREAT numbers from some of the cars they've done so far and will post my before and after numbers when I get it back. Along with the Mustang Dyno, they also got a portable Dyno-Jet(that can be seen here about 2 weeks ago so you could compare the numbers it made on the MD to the Dyno-Jet.

Too many people race dynos. They are tuning tools. Take it to the track.
