2001 WS6 Cam/Intake Low Numbers?
This is my first post here!
Ive recently acquired a 2001 WS6 Trans Am which has been modified by the former owner. He had the car on the Dyno a few years ago and I have the results sheet in a folder he gave me.
After being a lurker for a couple of weeks, ive looked through this forum and have come to the conclusion that something is wrong with my tune or car. What do you guys think? ive attached the print out of the dyno.
BHP at the wheels (says "road") is 373 and torque isn't printed out on the sheet but looks to be around 325 foot pound for most of the graph.
Car has:
TSP Torquer V2 cam shaft
Fast 90 intake and 90mm throttle body
SLP larger MAF
SLP Lid and K&N filter
Fast fuel rails
Pace setter 1 3/4 headers
true dual custom exhaust 3 inches diameter pipes and flow master 14419 mufflers
ECU mapped for these mods.
It is an A4 car.
Having said this, the car does feel great to drive with plenty of available power. Maybe its just me expecting too much.
Kind regards
Jack
They need to rev it out further. HP never peaked. Your build peaked TQ around 5000, which is about right. HP should peak at 6300 to 6400 with that torque peak.
only thing wrong with it is the rev limiter, IMO
Edit -- Just saw it's a dyno Dynamics. That's a heartbreaker dyno. Also, @G_Atsma -- that looks like the converter wasn't locked prior to starting the pull.

im happy to know that it all seems right! I just thought the torque figure was very low. Was expecting about 350-70 foot pounds from looking at other dyno results in here with similar mods.
from what the previous owner left me in the paperwork, I also appear to have a 3000-3200 stall converter on the auto box if that makes any difference.
ive emailed the guy and asked why they stopped at the rpm they did and he said they didn't change the factory limiter when tuning as the tuner was concerned that it would hurt the engine on the stock bottom end. I won't really be taking this car to the drag strip as we only have about three strips here in the UK and one is closing down....plus I've never done it before and I'm still on the standard rear end! Would probably blow it out with lack of experience!
Revving to 6800 is no big deal on a LS, so consider raising that limiter

Most dyno runs will start at 2500+ RPMs. You may still see a slight dip starting at 2500 RPMs, but it will move up the way we normally see.
