Bad dyno tuner?
Just got back from the dyno and am completely disappointed. Did the tuner mess up or is this all I am going to get? A4 car
parts list:
fast 92 w/ speed density and slp lid
fast fuel rails
42lb injectors
2.5 5.3 prc Texas speed heads
ms3 cam 238/242
1 3/4 headers straight piped
it does have a loose converter
dyno shows 347hp & 340 torque

NOWHERE does it say engine size. 4.8? 5.3? 5.7? 6.0? It can be any of these

something is seriously wrong, parts? combo? tuning? not sure, but that is just barley above stock HP/TQ..
Cam is a little too big imho - you dont need that much duration on a stock compression ls1, lose too much dynamic compression..
Also i'd run 1 7/8 headers and tru-duals
I'd run a smaller cam and find a different tuner.
i made 400/400 on a stock short block ls1 with LS6 heads and Ls6 intake with a 224 cam.

runs ok, when idling it gets down to about 600rpm. When I gassed on it, it redlined to 6500rpm and stuck there for a second or two, doesn't seem to shift when it should be under wot

Well, this could all be BS, if the dyno was not set up properly then your readings will be wrong, either high or low. This could be just a miscalibrated dyno.... garbage in, garbage out...
find another shop and try again, there is noway that vehicle made that low HP/TQ unless something is really wrong..
