Cam only. Why is my torque number so low
I have a 2000 z28 with a 230/230 114lsa custom cam. Stock 853 heads. Stock 323 gears.
Fast 92 intake and tb. Slp lid 3600 yank converter. Car made 383/342 seems low torque. I ran 12.3 at 111. Some people said my mph was low also. Any suggestions?

Hey buddy. Ive seen some people with better numbers with smaller cams..One of my friends has a 02 slp car. Just put full exhaust and made 350/360 on a mustang dyno. Im skeptical tho

Is it possible those guys with smaller cams had better heads and/or higher compression, better exhaust? Just having a smaller cam would not necessarily make them less powerful than you.

Maybe.. i forogt to put i have full exhaust 1 7/8 tsp headers no cats and magnaflow.. i couldnt take slp loud mouth anymore. Haha so you guys think my numbers arnt bad? I want to go to a couple dyno days at other shops and see what it does.

Here's the thing...dynos vary, so I wouldn't worry about the exact number or torque or any of that. You might make better numbers on another dyno, or better torque, or whatever. The trap speed is a much better indicator of true power. A true 383 rwhp LS1 should trap better than 110. Something else is going on

In that kind of DA you absolutely should be trapping higher than 110 mph.
With that same converter and exhaust only I trapped 111 mph. 12.2@111mph 60' 1.71 DA +200 ft.

I dont know anything else about the tune. It does shift pretty normal. I did tell him i wanted to keep it reliable. Its my sum.er daily. Only issue ive had is it sometimes stalls comming to a stop sign. Or cutting the wheel hard in reverse. Do u guys think i could need bigger injectors or better fuel pump?
