Your car will be fine. If you dont mind driving your car 1.5 hrs just to know what kinda #'s your stock SS is putting down, by all means, do it!

mmmmmm gratuitous smileys

I would stop at the waters edge.

Just let it cool down for a few then pull it.

Change the blinker fluid and replace the muffler bearing right before you dyno and everything will be alright.

Talking Just do it

Just do it, you'll have fun and meet a bunch of cool people. I live in Chino and I drive down to Santee to The Dyno Shop when they have one of their dyno days. It's cheaper than one of the dynos around here (including gas), plus I like driving my car so it's not a big deal to me. Yes it's almost 100 miles one way, but it's a nice drive. I get up early and about half way down there I stop and have some breakfast, and just make a nice day out of it.

Next Saturday I'll be going down there to get some "baseline" numbers for this car since I haven't had it that long, and I want to know where I'm at before I do anything else as the previous owner did some basic mods.

Oh... and don't worry about the engine being hot. Engines are hot. That's the best indication too. Do you think everyone runs around with a 20 lb. bag of ice on their engine? I don't think so. So you'll know how much it really makes. Good luck and have fun!
