Default Most disappointing modded ls1 I've seen

Ran my car two weeks ago. it was hot and humid. 86 degrees and 80% humidity. Elevation aroun 700ft.
specs then:
EGR and A.I.R. deleted.
Lid with K&N filter
SY3500 converter
Hooker long tube headers, Off road Y pipe, hooker aerochamber muffler
BMR SFCs
Lakewood LCAs
3.42 gears
3750lbs with driver.

I ran 12.9 at 106.47

Since then I installed:
GTP 420 cam (226/226 .595/.595)
Comp 918 springs
36# injectors
comp pushrods
SSRA

I dyno'd (on a mustang dyno) at less than 300hp! Tuned the car with ls1 edit, and picked up about 10hp before my laptop died.

Ran it last night in 50 degree air, 70% humidity, and roughly similar elevation.

Car went a best of 12.81 at 107.5. This was after a lot of logging and tuning through the course of the night. I picked up 1mph and dropped less than a tenth off the ET.

What gives? how can I gain NOTHING from those mods? I know I need more converter, which will help my track times, but why are the dyno numbers so low with all the stuff I've done? I tihnk I am getting pretty close on the tuning, but it seems like I should be a good 50hp higher than what I am...and I know there's not THAT much left in tuning (like I said, I logged the runs so I know how it's running now)

Can you post the dyno chart? I would be expecting to see 360+ rwhp numbers. Was your converter unlocked?

That is definitely odd. Who tuned the car? What was the AFR at? You've adjusted the fuel tables for the new injectors, right? Post up dyno graph, and pertinent data for a few of the runs.....

Seth from this site did a basleine tune for me. It was pretty rich, but it got me in the ball park. Initiall pull was at 11.5:1. I leaned it out to 12.5-12.9 (as you see int he chart) but it had a weird happening at the end. I'm thinking maybe fuel pressure was dropping temporarily or something. But like I said, the laptop battery died before I got to do any more tuning. on the dyno. Hoever, last night I logged several runs keeping an eye on o2 readings, KR, advance etc. I kept adding spark until it knocked, then pulled it back a hair at those RPMs and added at others until I was able to eget max advances across the board. I also added about 2% more fuel up top, and took 3% out from idle to 4400 rpm.

Here is the chart... peak power was 293hp at 6413 rpm

oh, I should mention that print out came out kinda bad. the RPM numbers at the bottom are shifted for some reason (as evidenced by the fact the tq and hp don't cross at 5252)

Mustang dyno's read way low. Also a cam only, 3500 stalled A4 is not going to be a dyno queen. As for your times, they are low. Your set-up should be running 11's. The car is also very heavy.

Look in your logs and see what your maximum MAF reading is and at what rpm. Also what was your MAP reading and what was the barometric pressure?

I think your 3.42's are holding you back at the drag strip.

I personally do not like 4.11's for the street but they are the way to go if you want to be quicker with that kind of weight.IMO

My convertible, with the sy3500 and a comp 216-220 cam and TEA heads runs 12.2x at 113mph. 3850 race weight 3.23 also. Just for comparo..

But why do you have 36lb injectors?? those shouldn't be needed for sure.
Whats your 60 ft?? something is off for sure.. should be 12.4's

Oh...I've seen that dyno chart before. You must have had it in another post. Your car is F'ed up. Are you throwing any codes yet? I think you screwed the pooch on your tune. Tell us all the changes you made, specifically those that would affect fueling. MAF table, VE, etc. I bet your IFR table has been changed for starters. How much?

I know the feeling. My car is pretty weak as well. I have simliar mods and ran a 12.8@107, which is way low for what I have. Of course I don't have the LS6 Intake on yet, or a good tune. With my tune now my AFR is 11.2 to 11.7. I should be around 365RWHP once i get the intake on and a good tune.

For n/a your a/f should be 12.9-13.1. Your tune is all over the place. Are you sure the cam is not off a tooth. That dyno seems really low even with a 3500 stall.

By looking at your dyno it looks like the Cam is off or the tune is way off in the midrange. That Cam is peeking way too high.If you want you can send me an e-mail of your tune and I'll look it over for you.

Thats a good point. But it still would not cause the AF problems he is having at the end of the RPM range.

Anyone that has ls1 edit is more than welcome to look at my file. post your email and I'll send you a copy of the current tune. Oh, but keep in mind the current file is not the one that was dyno'd. I think I still have that file though.

With that much lift, wouldn't a tooth off cause some valve to piston issues?

Send your most current file to Slowhawk@comcast.net. Also list all the mods done.I'll compare it to some comparable cars I've tuned.

Send me a copy to jmh75@earthlink.net. How is the tune now? Surging problems, pedal starts, cruising, wot. Do you have any autotap logs?

no autotap logs (I only have ls1_scan). It surges a little when in open loop but does smooth out. Every now and then it fights me on startup and keeps stalling to the point of needing a little bit of pedal to get it to stay running, but within a half minute or so it finds it's idle again. Cruising is pretty normal from what I can tell. Nothing to write home about. Same about WOT. It pulls higher in the RPM band now, but doesn't feel like it pulls any stronger.
