Default 427 w/ AFR 225's and G5X4

This is in my '01 GMC Sierra 4x4 ext. cab
The specs are as follows:

AFR 225's out the box
Nasty Performance 427 Darton Block
LG G5X4 111LS
Morel hydraulic lifters
Jesel mohawk adjustable rockers
90mm TPIS throttle body
90mm FAST intake
stock 85mm MAF
Dynatech LT's
3" true duals w/ "x" pipe and cats
Yank TT3000
FLP 4L65E
4.10 w/ Eaton posi

Runs were made through full exhaust and unlocked converter, 11.3:1CR, and 12.8 AFR. I haven't had the chance to scan the graph, but will do so soon.
430 HP at 6500 470 TQ at 3400

My previous heads and cam consisted of Stage III 6.0 heads and custom 252/258 612/612 112 comp cam which netted me a best of 360 HP and 340 TQ. This set up got my 5200 lb truck to run 12.9's at 103MPH. So I'm pretty anxious and have some high expectations of the new set up.

I know the numbers are not where many have expected but I am still very pleased, as I've gained 70HP and 130TQ from the previous set up. Like I said earlier, I'll try and post the graph soon.

As long as your happy with the set-up then that's all that matters. It's not everyones cup of tea to put that kind of motor in a heavy truck but to each his own. HOWEVER, that engine seem about 150hp low from where it should be. Is the drivetrain that unforgiving??

The torque is somewhat there but the hp represents something you would expect to see out of a stock head, big cam, 346ci LS1.
427 cubic inches, AFR heads, 90mm TB/Intake. Is that X4 cam pretty mild in that car? Are you choking the exhaust with those dynatechs? What size are they? I would have gone 2" primaries or AT LEAST 1-7/8 stepped to 2". Good luck with the track numbers.

I don't think the number's are 150HP off. But, it seems like it should be around 480-520rwhp, even with the auto. Either way, it's going to be fun to drive.

BV Performance did the tuning. As far as being 150hp off, I think that estimate is way off. I hoped for close to 500rwhp but I think something that may have hurt the numbers is the fact that the intake was port match to my previous set of Stage III 6.0 heads. I was also told by the tuner that I could expect a 25hp increase through a locked converter, then again that's not how I've run it down the track. Either way, my truck has never dynoed high and seems to perform beyond the dyno numbers expectations. I'll just have to wait til a track opens up.

I'm betting the tranfer case is eating the power # on the dyno. You cant compare a 4x4 dyno to a f-bod. Apples and Oranges. Those are very stout #s for a 4x4 truck.
