Anybody dyno with open headers?
anybody ever dyno with open headers and see what power difference it makes? im thinking about running at the track with open headers. just wondering what a difference it would make. maybe slide a 12-14 inch extension on the headers.

Allan Futral dynod my car with open headers before he got my exhaust welded up.. It actually gained more power all the way through the cruve and made a good bit more hp with the exhaust connected over open headers. I cannot remember the numbers off the top of my head though but IIRC it was somewhere around 10 hp..
Peace,

I dropped Y on a ASA cammed, LS6 head car gained 18 above torque peak, lost about 10 below. if you dont put an extension of some kind on it I think youll lose some bottom end. just a serious PITA to drop the y at the track
hows the car comign bud?

With open headers I only gained 1.5rwhp, but gained 8rwtq vs a standard exhaust. Of course I have an ORY and a corsa catback so it is very free flowing already.
354rwhp/360rwtq
Standard boltons and a tune.

i wouldnt consider it too impressive, closed exhaust it was only 430s and that can be obtained with a setup with much more bottom end. It only decent above 4800 or so.
GM parts do not the best all around heads/cam packages make
