SLP Package claims 500HP

This Head/Cam top end package claims 500HP with a fairely small cam. I have heard of people with much larger cams only making around 400-450.

Has anyone actually got this and gave it a try? What were your results? I am just curious How worth it it is. I have similar heads, so I am wondering if I should go with this cam instead of a bigger one like I had planned.

Any input is much welcome and much appriciated. Thanks a lot.

500hp at the crank is 425 at the rear wheels with a 15% drivetrain loss. That's a pretty big cam, and fully ported LS6 heads. I'd say it's very possible their package achieves these numbers.

Correct it's crank horse not whp. I have the kit. The dyno numbers are in the sig as well as the dyno chart. I helped a friend do an tune his fbody with the same kit but went with the upgraded 236 .590 lift cam and it put down 440whp 390wtq. Both cars are M6's. His ran a stock tb though.

That sounds like a deal, too. Fully assembled ported LS6 heads and that cam for only $2500? ****, I might look into this.

The changed the wording ever so slightly between last year and this year. It used to say "ls6 heads". Now it says ls6 style heads which are 6.0 L heads worked over. No biggie though, we installed a set of their reworked 6.0L heads and it still made good power.

Hey Knyghtmare thats my car and dyno sheet that GTODoug posted. The kit is worth every penny. I know alot of people don't give SLP props but i do. The car is putting that much power down with stock TB and stock Intake Manifold. the motor will see the 90/90 fast set up soon. the car should then see 450-460 rwhp. I would go for it man. On stock rear end and street tires, launching the car like a baby, and shifting like a granny the car pulled 12.7 @ 119mph. we didn't expect that MPH. so u know the car is pulling hard with that MPH. Like i said dude go for it you will not regret it.
