Default New Dyno...Worst Result

1st Dyno was F13, Pacesatters LT, Catted Y, Port TB, LS6 manifold, stock heads, stock catback.. 371 Max power, 356 max torque. 78 F, 19% Humd A/F at 13.0

2nd Dyno all of the with Hooker Catback and ASP pulley, 366 Max power , 352 Max torque. 96.55 F, 18% Humd A/F 14 a little lean but I should be making 385-390. I'll try to post pic of the graph. Very, very disturbed.

WTF

Most likely the temp ! Dyno's have correction factors that compensate for what the temp is outside.

03 cobra lost 30 rwhp on the dyno last month after adding a 90mm maf and off-road H-pipe. Made 460 when it was 70 out then after mods and tune it did 430. It was around 90 outsidethis time and the dyno guy said the heat was why. I know its sc but still.

Thats not what I meant. What I was saying, don`t go crazy about your numbers. It`s seat-of-the-pants that matters. I know cars with low numbers for the mods that plain haul ***. They run better than some higher HP cars. Now do you get it!

i dynoed my car at 450rwhp at 98 degrees. i lost about 30-40rwhp bc of the temp. im sure if i went back there when it was cooler i would be around 480-490 range.

i notice it when i drive it at different times of the day... afternoon when its around 85-90 here it runs great but not as near as good as later at night around 8-9 when the temp drops to around 70-75. i notice it.

i wouldnt worry, bc i was told not to worry about mine. and sincce then i have driven and noticed the differences myself with the air temp.

I wasn't sure the temp took so much power away. I thought maybe there was something wrong behind the scenes that I was missing.

I thought the dyno compensated for temp and humidity and barometric pressure so you could compare numbers in December to numbers in July. I know the dyno did back in the day when I was racing motorcycles. It compensated with a correction factor that corrected horsepower to 59 degrees farenheit and 29.92 inches of mercury. Maybe the dynos today aren't as sophisticated as the ones 20 years ago, huh?

The dyno does compensate for those corrections.. However, if you dyno in 100 degree air vs. 40 degree air, the car is going to react better to a non humid 40 degree day than a 100 degree day. The correction factors are placed to account for the fact of this, but its not 100% perfect formula.
