this was a budget build and i'm very happy with the results. i know some of you may say the numbers are a little low but the butt-o-meter tells a different story. the motor sounds very health and just screams all the way to redline with zero knock
.thank very much to the following people involved:
ed potter @ lingenfelter
richard @ westcoast cylinder heads
andy & charlie @ a&a corvette
todd & matt @ bedard automotive
attached are the standard & sae corrected dyno sheets

I assume you went with the 224/224 114LSA to pass smog?
If you are happy then that should be fine.... give it a few months when you get used to it and a bigger cam is on the list of upgrades.
My combo is nearly the same aside from TSP 233/239 cam and .024" milled AFR 205's. Over 50rwhp difference and on 91 octane as well.
Do you have a ported TB on it? A few more ponies there....

the z06 clutch & fidanza flywheel are great, zero chatter and zero slip.
i do agree with most of you on the power being on the low side. i was expecting around the 400-425hp & 380+trq at the wheels, but it sure does feel very strong for a 346ci motor. this is coming from a guy with a 730hp/700lb ft. trq supercharged 383 91z28.
maybe charlie is right about there dyno reading lower then most. he seems to think it would put up the 400+hp mark on other dynos.
as far as the cost of the motor it came out to around $5,000+/-, so not real expensive but at the same time i don't have the cash for the forged stuff, or else it would have been a 383. i also wanted to keep the compression around stock to be safe with zero detonation/knock on 91 octane.
also no boost, been down that road, to costly to build at this time.
if i can feel the power in the cheeks of my face then i'm a happy camper. maybe in a few years i'll slap on a set of afr's, but for now i don't have $2,000 to blow on cylinder heads.
i agree with you on the motor not being broken in yet, seems like even the motors from the factory free up some ponies after a while. don't think i'm going to get 15-20hp but it might free up some.
30th t/a,
even though it's not built to be a track car i'm sure i will log a few passes just to see what she will do. i'm usaully at irwindale (1/8 mile in cali) running my dads car on thursday nights (except tonight), so i will get some times at least from that track and maybe from pomona and california speedway.
it does need some fine tuning at part throttle around the 1500rpm range so there might be a little left in the tune also, i'm going to give a few weeks and then maybe reschedule with charlie at a&a.
btw,
thanks for all the responses and input guys
yes andy does have a dyno jet.
also charlie had a little trouble tuning it because the preditor tune was still in the ecm when the original motor was yanked out. he did see where the preditor changed things here and there, just food for thought.
anyone have any experiences with another tune from a hand held programer still in the ecm before they went and had it tuned by someone else?
i guess i could reflash the ecm and try again if the above might be the culprit. i just don't want to throw down another $550 on a tune again. it does need some fine tuning imo and i think charlie will work with me on that.
