Default dyno #s in kinda dissapointing

Had the car on a mustang dyno at livernois and put down 227 as you can see but the guy said it was off by about 30hp so add 30? which be about 357 which still seams a little low for my mods. which are in my sig MTI X1 cam 230/227 .591/.571 on a 114, Ls6 intake, FLP LTs, TSP lid. With only the LTs and the TSP lid the car put down 334 at the wheels in APEs dyno. which would only be about 30 hp gain. any ideas

I would use a different dyno, those numbers are screwed up.

Has the car been tuned?
Do you have a ported TB, UD pulley?
What knida exhaust are you running behind the hedders?
Gotta remember a load bearing dyno is gonna read lower than a chassis dyno
Id think on a dynojet ud see 380+rw tuned w/ all the usual bolt-ons

No Ported TB or pully or tune , After the headers i hace a crappy custom made 2 1/4 or less non mandrel bent Y pipe and a cutout. which could be the problem?

get the TB, ud pulley(worth about 15rw together on a cammed car), 3in mandrel ory, and a tune(very important to get the most outta ur setup) then u'll see the number ur looking for
If nothing else at least ditch that dinky y & get it tuned!!!

Ill post a pic of they hack Y pipe a shop custom made for me. There i also a decent size dent in the pass side header that might be sucking up power.

Who makes a good Y pipe that will fit my headers?

Sounds about right for it being a Mustang dyno and your car missing some very important pieces.

Oh geez...that's brilliant. Your car doesn't put down the numbers you think it should so you determine that the dyno is at fault?

I've had my car on that dyno for 100's of pulls...literally. There's nothing wrong with it.

Did you have the car tuned or just dyno'd?

It's a known fact that a Mustang Dyno will show lower numbers than a Dyno-Jet. It's a great tuning tool, but doesn't give the numbers people like to see as the Dyno-Jet will. We have both dynos here and if you ever want to do a comparison on the Dyno-Jet it's normally here during the week, but rented out most weekends.

Rick,
The guy running the dyno said there was a 20 to 30 hp correction, was that correction for what the car should do on that dyno or what it would do on a dyno jet? When my car just had headers and a lid it put down 334 on APEs mustang dyno wich shouldent be off too much from yours right? I have sence added a MTI X1 cam and ls6 intake and the butt dyno- 1/4 mile times tell me it sure dident loose power. But one this is for sure and that is i need a tune how much do you guys charge for that?
Thanks, Dane

FYI, I put down 336 with 224 cam only on a mustang dyno and a week before that, nohing changed, 378 on a dynojet. FYI

If there is nothign wrong with it, then why did the operator say that it was off by about 30?

Did you dyno with drag radials on? If so BFG drags cause a massive drop in measured power as per many dyno operators.

he said it will differ from a dynojets readings...they are two different types of dynos...so there is nothing wrong with it.

you need a tune.and get a decent 3" y-pipe,along with a free flowing muffler.reverse split cams have to have a free flowing exhaust to work well.get those things done and you'll probably be suprised at the difference it makes.but, don't get too caught up in dyno nos.a dyno is a tool, like everything else we use to work on our cars.it's how it runs at the track that counts.
