Default TR224 owners inside!

A month back I bought a ws6. Car has kooks LTs TR224/224 cam,918s, ls6 intake, new spec 3, stock 3.42s, carsound highflow cats, and stock catback except a magnaflow welded in. The guy had it dyno tuned on a mustang and it made 387/365. The heads are stock. Does not have underdrive pullies.

I have just done all the free mods including taking porting the hell out of the throttle body. I downloaded the tune to check out what numbers for timing and such the car is recieving at wot and it has a max of 19deg timing. I have done a few 1/4 mile passes and there is 0 knock. Also looks like the part throttle map is the same as a stocker. Car does not surge at all and does pull really hard but the question is with so little timing does the car have enough power to make 400?
I will be retuning it this weekend on a dynojet Elevation 200ft and should be in the mid 60's
Any suggestions from peeps with 224?

Your #'s are really good fro the 224 cam. My 98 Z with the same cam and almost the same bolt ons only made 367 and 370.

I think 400 is a very realistic possiblity for ya. Good luck!

Heads would get you 400.

Well we started out I was about to 326 and 329 AF was bad as well with an 11.0 - 11.75 at WOT. So on the second pull we pulled some fuel and pulled a 377/372 which was close but then it was slightly lean so we added some fuel back in and pulled the final dyno of the night and TA DA!!! My car is running 28* of timing. Those are really good #'s for a stock headed car but it is a manual. These are mine below.

380.56RWHP / 375.75 RWTQ SAE
389.93RWHP / 384.78 RWTQ STP

AFR was 12.9x - 13.06
Temp 89.9*
Humidity 36%
Pressure 30.29 in-Hg

On a side note the eibach pro kit is coming off. When I put my car on the dyno and we were strapping it down I noticed the exhaust pipe above the panhard bar is chushed!!! I believe I may need a new exhaust from the intermediate pipe back or at least the 1 pipe that runs over the axle. I may have a little HP in there...cutout, and some simple stuff might get me over the hump.

I will post a graph later. I am tired, just got in from Mobile 20 min. ago.

Mods are listed on my web page. Heads/TR 224 cam/jet hot headers and Y-pipe.

remember a dynojet and Mustang dyno work differently.

If you got 387 on the Mustang and lets say 405 this time on a dyno jet, it may not actually be producing more power.

If your only concern is dyno numbers go for the Dyno jet, but there is no real way of comparing them.

Personally, I'd go back to the same Mustang dyno. There will still be a variance, but it should be minimal. As temp/humidity factors are equaled out with correction equations. Thia way you'll be avle to better gadge if the mods have had any affect or not.

26 to 28 is all the timing you'll need...
I'd bump it up about 5 to 7 degrees and recheck the 02's...

I put down Like 375 hp and 375 tq without an LS6 intake, Ported throttle body and stock pully. I should be around 390-400 once I get it dyno'd again. Since I have added these 3 things. I was told I should get around 15-20 rwhp just from the LS6 intake. Your numbers look like they are online with what they should be for a TR 224. Dyno numbers dont mean to much other than for bragging rights. I know a guy that put down 355 hp in his C5 and he just had a CAI, Exhaust and a tune but he only ran like 8.7 or 8.8 in the 1/8. I would be more concerned about track times.
