Default ETP 215* H/C results - Pictures

These are the preliminary results. I have some valve instability around 6300 rpm and then it gets bad after 6500 rpm. It's probably costing me some peak power. It looks like I should have shimed the valve springs. This cam should pull all the way up to 6800 with no problem and the torque comes on early with 344.6 at 2600 rpm. These results are with a stock pulley, water pump, through the cats, and a crappy Vararam foam filter.

STD

SAE Comparison when I brought the car in for a baseline before the h/c install. My old setup was a 225/225 113 lsa.

I have another graph with a higher peak hp but lower tq.

The cam specs were 224/236 63x/595.. 115lsa? what was the ICL? Was the intake lobe a LSK lobe? What was your final compression ratio? Great numbers regardless.

Very nice. Very nice. Get those springs under control and you've got a killer setup.
Very nice peak tq figure. Congrats.
So, you've got a 224/234 cam with .637 lift? Is that an LSK grind on the intake?

It's basically a 224 LSK intake lobe and a XER 236 exhaust lobe on a 115 lsa retarded 2 degrees. The heads have a 62cc chamber and I used a stock mls gasket.

I'm going to get a better filter, remove the cats, add a pulley, shim the springs, and see what it will make then.

Does your set of heads have the upgraded springs good to 650 lift?

Thanks. This cam has way better manners then my old 225/225 did and the extra torque down low feels great.

Did you have to use longer pushrods? I have read around a 8.1 and some vendors are telling me the 7.4's would work. Im just curious as I am looking at these heads as well. Just trying to get the facts straight. Whats you CR?

The vendors telling you 7.4s will work are wrong. Those are way to short. I use 8.15 on the intake and 8.10 on the exhaust.

Gotta love those LSK lobes. Great power everywhere!

Congrats. Let me know when you get everything finished and we will run'em (even though you have more power and weight less).

That should make good power. Let us know the results.
