Default 492 was not good enough

https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/496416-492rwhp-05-gto-heads-cam-car.html

***IMPORTANT***
This car has above average performance numbers. 507RWHP on a stock LS2 rotating assembly (Naturally Aspirated) is not common. This setup is quite aggressive and the drivability is not like the factory car. This setup should only be done in an car with a manual trans.
***************

Well, we installed an SLP underdrive pulley last night and got it back on the dyno before the customer came to pick up the car.

507/456

Not to bad

And people on the ls1gto forum were calling me crazy when I said I thought 500rwhp NA was possible, it was just going to require a properly matched setup and a car that ran a little stronger than usual.

While we proved it is possible it certainly is not average.

Right, cr plez....

Honestly, without factoring in the exhaust note, how would you compare this motor in DD manners and idle quality.

Can it be made "caddi-smooth"... what rpm does it hang out at?

OH, amazing!! I knew it... good job guys!

How will this cam work on a 408ci to get optimal DCR.I have TX Giant cam on mine,I recently just change to a M6 this thing is sluggish on the low RPM"typical"This cam looks good as far as specs, just wondering how to get more power under the curve.By the way, damn good #'s

To answer a few questions ...

The only thing we changed was the pulley and the tune a little bit.

The head's did not have tiny chambers so the CR isnt that much more than stock... just barely higher. I can get acctual numbers when I am back in the shop.

The car idles a little above 1,000 RPM and I think it likes crusing at 2,000RPM and not so much around 1,500 RPM. It has a Corsa exhaust so it is a little loud and it is not the easiest to drive around at 30mph without getting noticed. However it is much better than one would think a 507RWHP 360 some cubic inch would run

Congrats, awesome power everywhere!

I saw on another post that the cam maybe a 238/244 .605/.612 110, is that correct.
What is the ICL on?
How much compression and is the fast ported.
Goes to show you that a well balance combo will make the power everywhere.

Nice numbers Jon!! The extra cubes realy show the diference in torque!

Im surprised you saying the car is not very drivable. Im making 507.9 on an LS1 with less cubes and the car, though agressive sounding is not bad at all on the street and idles at 850-900rpm. I have been driving it every day this past week to school and back.

I think you guys can get it streetable with a bit more idle tuning. Way to go guys!
