My TR224/114 put down 431hp/410TQ with my heads. My numbers before the heads were a untuned cam only with cats of 380/366. Now with a great tune, it idles very good. Almost to good for my taste.
So the 224 can put down some nice numbers if the tuner knows what they are doing and take there time. My guess would be you would gain a small amount with the larger cam, but would it be work the money?

I know I saw the graph. I drive my car today and im at 370 RWHP. If I make it to 410 RWHP I really think that's enough for me. More HP will only get me to the next light quicker lolol.
I wont have to worry about really anything with the "mild " cam and a good set of heads and 400+ RWHP.

Phil just hurry up and put your heads on!!!! They been on your shelf for way too long I had the afr's out of the box and the tr224 it made right around 407/390 (sae) but then I milled the heads and thew in the 224/228 and it made the numbers in my sig. feels way better than the tr224
If I used the STD correction like brian2001SS with the tr224 setup I was at 418/405

to get the most out of it, you should change to the highest gear ratio you can get away with. Gears make such a difference on the performance of the car. When I put my 4:10s in, it was night and day

granted I could change gears, then the larger cam would not concern me as much.
I changed in to the 224/228 cam, and from whaqt everyone told me, it really would not be worth the effort.
That's why im in the 228 range for a 15 HP differant
MSG. I know it was a matter of time untill you abused me !!!
I know I wont have a chance in June to drop the car off because im in and out of the county in June

If I was just starting, the 224/228 would be an easy no brainer
But I already have to tr224 in the car, so if im going to change and get 15 more RWHP, I have to just to 228 something.
So if im going to change it would be a 228/228 or 228/230
The heads already have dual springs on them. I have 918s on the car now

The 224 cams can make power. I am thinking about going with the 224/228 Patrick used in my rebuild.
