Mikey, how did the intake line up to your 265's? I bolted my Harrop to the heads today, and one wall lines up perfectly, and the other is about .200" off. Cary mentioned that he opened up one side a good bit, so I'm assuming that's why. Really just wondering if your gaskets lined up ok cause at this time, mine look to be going into the port on that side. I may have to elongate the bolt holes on the intake so I can move the intake foward a bit to get a proper seal.

I have a set of 255 ET's and the manifold lined up the same way you described. one side only needed minor work but the other was off by about .200". I took it off until they lined up and there was still enough material around the gasket that i'm not worried about it.

mikey i'm gonna be calling you soon for a tune.

btw killer setup

One side lined up pretty good with only some minor work but the other was a major headache. With the 265, there was not much material left at the seal.

Yep, same problem I'm having. Luckily, the intake is aluminum and I can elongate the holes a bit to get it to seal. By the way Cary talks, I should try to get the walls on the pushrod side as close as I can. Unfortunatlly, that's the side that dosen't line up worth the ****.

I knew going into this that the intake would be a problem but wanted to see how far I could take it. Not that we've seen how badly the engine is starved for air I can predict what we will see with a better flowing intake. I'd like to see this engine pull close to 700rwhp with a larger cam.

Come on Mikey get the car off the dyno and to the track so we can see the numbers actually mean something.

FYI, He went this weekend and went 10.1 @ 137 first pass. Car has major suspension issues. Twisted bad coming out and did not 60' well. Had clutch issues after that. Keep in mind this is a 60 year old guy driving. We may be going this Friday weather depening and he's going to let me drive it. The car is also ~3500lbs race weight. It's not a stripped out shell.

i wasn't trying to take anything away from your good numbers it is just good to see them backed up with some good track numbers. Keep up the good work.

Default Update!

We re-dynoed the car today with a sheet metal intake and it went 674rwhp / 549 rwtq. The intake extended the rpm band to 7000 where it started to roll over. We lost a little bit of torque below 5000 rpms.

This fella just finshed installing his full cage and has it certified so now we are looking for some cooler temps then we hit the track.

I will print a graph and post it shortly.

Mikey

12 lbs/ft max. Was done at a different dyno shop so I can't overlay the two. The cops always show up when we do race cars
